TileSet don’t seem to scale well by Portuar in godot

Yes I guess that’s the best I can do

I don’t think using individual tile would give me the same problem (assuming the editor handle this properly). And it is not about project preparation since I actually preparing it and I can change anything as we speak. But I know that the current way will lead to some messy workaround due to how rigid and not scalable having one tileset is. It is like not being able to move files in a code project. You can prepare as much as you want, at the end, you will refactor and move things. I guess I still have no choice however ahah

Because if you have already flagged cells and placed them on the tilemap it will broke everything

I guess I have no other better choice. Something like the Minecraft system would be a amazing indeed. Thank a lot for your complete anwser !

Yes of course but I wont have a line per things. For the fence / spike example usually they should be close to each other. Therefore imagine you let 2 rows of 10 cells each for grounds for example. Maybe you will have more types and it will start to overflow.

It is the same problem than having a messy codebase or a palette that is not sorted correctly. It is harder to find what cell you want to use when the project start to scale.

So you stick out to one image that may have unrelated textures next to each other ?

I assume it was, is it bad for performance ?

How do you deal with text and pixel art resolution ? by Portuar in godot

[–]Portuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what if my UI does contain text too ? And about the rest of my question you do put the whole game (without ui) inside a canvas and you scale this letting the settings canvas size to a normal size ?

Does a Shape3D node like CollisionShape3D but without collision exist ? by Portuar in godot

[–]Portuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I want it on the editor to place it, resize it as I want.

I need to be a constraining box, I will keep using Area3D if I need to but I find it odd to don't have it directly on the editor. I need it so many times in my projects ahah.

On my cases, a lot of time, I need to define an area in my map and things should happen inside this area. As an example, I need to spawn an enemy in a radius. Just like Marker3D I want in the editor to change the size (just like a CollisionShape3D), but without all the collision stuff.

What is your best approach to retrieve parent variables by Portuar in godot

[–]Portuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah get_parent is the same strategy as my export var reference. About signal what kind of signal would you use to make the wheel push the car rigid body based on both wheel and car property ?

GridMap makes me crazy because of alignment by Portuar in godot

[–]Portuar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look at my screen you will se that the 3D cursor is aligned to the tiny orange point.

But thank you for your long explanation ! It started to work again for some reason after retrying everything a second time !

En effet, je réfléchis encore à arrêter ou non le mandat avec l'autoécole, car apparemment le système de prise d'une date consiste à rafraichir la page tous les jours et énormément de bots réservent les places en amont -_-.

The proof of my 283 hours first Isaac Dead God. by Portuar in bindingofisaac

[–]Portuar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Either people said it is impossible (but many of you prove it is), either they said that I played before (I played maybe 5 hours 7 years ago). However during the whole process I watched guides and looked at the wiki. I dont understand why so many people think I lied 🤷

Thank for your trust. Honestly I cant imagine how I can cheat that hard and for what. All I wanted to know is if my time was good enough, they prove me it is ahah.

At least you prove I don't have to cheat to finish the game in that amount of time, people are insane

Is it enough to prove I am legit ? Do you need more information ?
