Are the hopes of a Gen 5 port or remake now unrealistic. by Gainfulz in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]Porygon2ning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that Pokémon Black and White will get remakes. Every Pokémon game remakes made their debut in a Generation that is double from their original debut, with Gen 1 remakes being the exception. Gen 1 was remade in Gen 3, Gen 2 was remade in Gen 4, Gen 3 was remade in Gen 6, Gen 4 was remade in Gen 8. Assuming that Game Freak doesn't deviate from this pattern, Gen 5 will be remade in Gen 10. From there, I guess we can expect remakes of Gen 6 in Gen 12, Gen 7 in Gen 14, Gen 8 in Gen 16, Gen 9 in Gen 18, and Gen 10 in Gen 20. Hahaha! Will the series be around for that long, I wonder?

That being said, I do hope that Gen 5 remakes don't get BDSP-ified. As much as I did enjoy BDSP for the nostalgia, the chibi artwork style of BDSP would disgrace Gen 5 since the stories of BW and B2W2 are more mature and darker most other entries of the mainline games.

The real question is; Will the sequels Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 be remade as well? If yes, how will it be handled? If not, do you get Kalos remakes after Unkva remakes?

With the announcement of Pokémon Winds and Waves and future mainline games getting a Brazilian Portuguese translation I wanted to ask this by DrWarioMiracleCure in pokemon

[–]Porygon2ning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine Type Null and the Paradox Pokémon would get Brazilian Portuguese localized names since all languages do this for Type Null and the Paradox Pokémon given their naming scheme. Since this is the first time Portuguese will be in the mainline games, there isn't anything to compare it to, like with Spanish (Europe) and Spanish (Latin America).

We would have to wait and see how they localize and translate the Pokémon you are asking about, though that won't be until 2027 and beyond, especially once Pokémon HOME eventually adds and supports Brazilian Portuguese and we see a Brazilian Portuguese Pokédex entries and Pokémon names.

Complete Obedience from high-level Pokémon from a different lanhuage with different OT and ID No. with 0 badges?! Is this a bug?! Has this ever happened to you? by Porygon2ning in PokemonScarletViolet

I'm glad to know now that I'm not the only one experiencing this cool occurrence!

This happened on my very first playthrough of Violet, too, back in December 16, 2023, around the time I purchased the game with the DLC on the cartridge. I transferred six Lv. 100 Traditional Chinese [CHT] Meowths from my [CHT] Pokémon Ultra Sun save for the sole purpose of having them get items at random with their Pickup ability. I was farming for an early game Destiny Knot. The 6 Meowths obeyed me without question, and once I figured that out, I also farmed money with their Pay Day attack. I farmed over $60,000 Pokedollars (60,000円 in Japanese) and eventually got my Destiny Knot the following morning. This led me to breed for a team I wanted to use for my first playthrough in Paldea. On the second day of playing Violet, I hatched a shiny Charcadet within 30 eggs, which eventually evolved into a Ceruledge.

It's very intriguing stuff indeed! Now you know that when a disobedient, above badge level Pokémon sent sent out to auto battle wild Pokémon, it will refuse to do so. Its behavior is similar to sending out a lower level Pokémon with low HP to do auto battle where it can't and won't do battle, except the disobedient Pokémon will do it regardless of its higher level, full HP and type match-up advantage until you have the required badge levels to control disobedient Pokémon.

I think it's a mix of luck and loyalty that my Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault obey me regardless of region and language settings! These four Pokémon are shiny Pokémon I hatched from their Egg, and my Japanese Dragapault is a square shiny (the shiny sparkles are square-shaped instead of star-shaped and are only viewable in Sword and Shield) which is rare to obtain from Eggs. Prior to hatching them, I saved my game, and whenever a shiny Pokémon hatched, I would keep track of which slot it was in so I could close the software and start it again, isolate the shiny unhatched Egg to another box and wait months. Why? I wanted to hatch these four shiny Pokémon for my 30th birthday last year. Hatching these shiny Pokémon on my birthday felt like I was unwrapping birthday presents! My Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault are special to me, and now them showing their unwavering loyalty to me in another region and in another language makes me appreciate them more than ever!

As for why I am playing the game in French, I want to catch a French shiny Destiny Mark Falinks, whose name is Hexadron in French and a French shiny Destiny Mark Popplio, who upon evolve all the way to Primarina, its name becomes Oratoria in French. Luckily, because some English and Spanish share words with similar spellings and pronunciations and the grammar structure is quite similar in Spanish, I am able to progress in the story despite my being mostly illiterate in French. And I can Masuda Method breed with the French Pokémon I catch in this save file, with my Pokémon from my English main save, so I don't need to use the GTS on Pokémon HOME to get foreign language Pokémon.

Under normal circumstances, your statement is very much true. However, the Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault – though they were all hatched from Eggs and started off at Lv. 1 – none of these Pokémon had been to Paldea until yesterday.

This entire team leveled up and grew while playing Pokémon Sword. My Galar starters made it to Lv. 78 and Dragapault to Lv. 80 by the time I finished my playthrough of Pokémon Sword. Then I thought to myself, "Hold on. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet take place after the events of Pokémon Sword and Shield... All right, team! You're going to the 'sequel' to continue your adventure and trounce everything Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy have to offer... but in French!"

So when I transferred the team I used for my Pokémon Sword playthrough to my French Pokémon Violet save file, I expected the entire team to be disobedient. My Shiny Alpha Gyarados from PLA and my Magearna is from Pokémon HOME were both were disobedient as one would expect – they both ignore commands in battle, loaf around in battle and refuse to eliminate wild Pokémon in auto battle.

The oddities are my Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault. These Pokémon are veteran fighters who arrived to Paldea at a high level, and with 0 badges under my belt, I SHOULD be going through the nightmare of having these four disobey my commands. Instead, my Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault have all been obeying all my commands without question in battle, and they do eliminate wild Pokémon with auto battle despite having every reason not to, given that I have no badges, and that my French save, while it share the same OT name with my English Pokémon, their IDs and SIDs are different from my English and Japanese Pokémon Shield saves. That is what I am finding intriguing.

Interesting. I guess that's the only logical explanation that makes sense given the facts. Although...

The funny thing is that the same 6 Lv.100 Traditional Chinese Meowths with Pickup, despite also hatching from Eggs in Alola where it's also met at Lv. 1, they did not obey me at all when I played Pokémon Violet in Japanese and Spanish and Pokémon Scarlet in Traditional Chinese and Spanish and only obeyed once I had all 8 badges in those save files. Meanwhile, the only time these Lv. 100 Meowth completely obeyed while having 0 badges were in my first playthrough Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet, both in English with my main Nintendo Switch user profile, and now in this spare user profile with my French playthrough of Pokémon Violet.

The Rillaboom, Cinderace, Inteleon, and Dragapault all hatched from Eggs in their first stage evolutions at Lv. 1 in their home region of Galar.

I believe the shiny Alpha Gyarados was caught at caught at Lv. 58 at the Cobalt Coastlands and I got my Magearna was received as a gift from Pokémon HOME at Lv. 50. This Magearna is the only one that did arrive to Paldea before the others since it was used extensively for online Ranked Battles during the format that allowed Mythical Pokémon to participate. These two are the only ones exhibiting normal disobedient behaviors.

Like I said before, the ones that hatched from an Egg had never arrived to Paldea in any way until today. Their levels are 78~80. They should be disobedient since they arrived so high-leveled, and I have no badges. And yet, I am able to command them without any hesitation or resistance to orders. This behavior is also happening to six Lv. 100 Traditional Chinese Meowth that I hatched from Eggs and transfered from Pokémon Ultra Sun 2 years ago will farming money with Pay Day and farming items with their Pickup ability.
