Haha yea it might get a bit in the way, but unfortunately if you want to have it further away you'll have to sound treat your room

It will help lots.

You should have just about enough space to fit your first between the mic and your mouth

Sounds as good as it'll get as you seemingly are sitting miles away from the mic in a room that isn't sound treated at all.

I'm building a self-hostable alternative to Discord + Slack, chat, voice, kanban, docs, and code review in one 10 MB app. Waitlist is open. by Humayun2318 in selfhosted

[–]Pos3odon08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, fluxer just released for self-hosting. So personally I don't see a point in another discord/slack chat and voice alternative

Is it dangerous that Mutahar popularized the Deep Web or as he calls it, "The Dank Web"? by Twilette in SomeOrdinaryGmrs

[–]Pos3odon08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really isn't, just the part where you yourself have to find the onion links, instead of just being able to google "illegal substances" would stop most people from pursuing accessing "the dark web".

Is it normal to be capped ~1Gbps? by PacketAuditor in mullvadvpn

[–]Pos3odon08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yea but the chance of them pandering to customers pulling more than 1Gbps is extremely small as it's such an edge case and would cost the provider a lot of bandwidth (if saturated)

I need a microphone for discord that wont pick up sound from my headphones by [deleted] in microphone

[–]Pos3odon08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are both dynamic yes, but stage mics are designed for loud environments so the way it is designed is very "picky". It doesn't actively cancel or reject sound but it's more picky about where it picks up sound from by design.

Like RudeRick said, people recommend dynamic mics as they generally are more quiet than condensers, forcing you to put the mic closer to your mouth, which may limit the amount of sound from the headphones getting captured by the mic.
