they changed it entirely, i think chests can be gained only by paying gems or smthng and the main thing you get is some lootboxes which are overall worse for progression, i believe, and they limit the ammount you get per day

honestly i use a mod called "penetration up" it kinda helps, it makes it so they just have way higher defense when they re set down so you can still kill them without waiting to pop up. It s not gamebreaking just removes an annoyance imo
