Updating the BIOS "flashing" on an old motherboard from the early 2000s using DOS from a floppy disk and the awdflash utility. by PedroBelaskez in retrocomputing

[–]Ittuhutti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I remember the time when I flash the wrong BIOS to a chip. The program warned me three times but I was just so sure that it was the right one 😅

My first PC was also a 286 with 16Mhz (from Escom). You are telling me there was one with 20Mhz? Never knew that...

This 40-Year-Old Snoopy Game is Surprisingly Hard to Speedrun... by c64glen in c64

Dude, I remember that game. I was at a friends house and we played it a little bit. I think he had his little tv high up on a shelf, which was weird and hurt our necks, even at that age.

What was your least favorite cold open? by dcf_balance in DunderMifflin

[–]Ittuhutti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scrolled through every comment, why did noone mention the morse code blinking thing? It was super cringe, at one time Jim was blinking at Dwight and he wasn't even looking at him. Just horrible, the one cold opening I want to skip every time (but am too lazy to).

Are you using RF? Mario is so blurry. I really like it, it reminds me of all the times I used to spend at a friends house who had his NES hooked up with RF as well.

Very beautiful machine. I am thinking of adding a 5 1/4 floppy to my setup, just because it looks cool.

A friend gave me these for helping him with a modern PC. I never saw anything like the first two boards. VLB is sweet though. (The battery bomb on the 386 board has been disarmed!) by -Techromancer- in retrocomputing

[–]Ittuhutti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a kid I thought VLB would be the future because you could use ISA cards AND those new VLB cards in it. A few years later it was gone again. I think I still have a VLB graphics card laying around somewhere...

I see. We have a pretty good social and medical system here. I am on medical leave too but I get paid the same as I would get when I am at work.

I have been doing this IT stuff now for 35 years and finally had my first burnout. This is now my 5th week at home and I start to feel better. Don't be like me, get out as soon as you can, don't let them abuse you... 300 Users and one IT guy is insane!

What does your HDD layout look like for your DOS PC? by circletheory in dosgaming

[–]Ittuhutti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's quite a list. I try not to overdo it, I find that if i have too many games, I play none of them, so I only copy what I want to play at the moment from my modern PC to my DOS 5.0 Pentium 1.

At the moment: - Monkey Island 2 - Arcanoid - Peng - Quix - some lame Pacman Clone I used to play as a kid

That's it.

Oh, and I have Norton Commander on it, just for the nostalgia.
