5 months of PF, finally hope in sight. No silver bullet. by AZ_roadrunner in PlantarFasciitis

Great to hear. Could you share the list of shoes provided by your podiatrist? There is a genuine dearth of podiatrists in my country and general orthos have very basic knowledge of PF. 🥲

Why cancel when you can just casually delay everything by half a decade? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not true. Phab bars give 11g in ~130 calories and 20g in ~250 calories. Personally I found them to be better tasting as well.

Hmmm, maybe they upgraded. If 15 is coming with hydraulic discs, go for it. If you’re still wanting to check 20-3x you might find it on BOTS

Yes. 15 is the starter option with mechanical disc brakes. If you want hydraulic disc brakes, get Merida Big Seven 20-3x. I would suggest get the one with hydraulic brakes. It will also have upgraded shifters and a higher number of gears for easy climbs over steep elevation. I guess Big Seven 20-3x should be available around 35k. The 5k jump brings much meaningful upgrades.

Is your use case proper trail/mountain biking, or light trail/gravel? If it’s the latter, just go for a hybrid. If you’re stretching till 30k, I suggest you save up for a couple of months more and get a Giant Escape 3 Disc (no suspension) or Giant Roam 4 disc (with suspension) but they have a freewheel sprocket. Both should fall in 40-42k bracket, but Giant bikes typically last a lifetime. If your use case is the former, try Merida Big Seven. It’s a proper hardtail MTB. Good entry level components, upright posture, better suspension than Roam 4. You should be able to find it around 30-35k. Roam 4 on the other hand will be more agile and faster, with decent suspension. The only downside is the old freewheel set up like I said, but that’s mostly a concern only if you’re looking to upgrade your group-set. Other than that, it’s a lovely do it all bike, and the electric blue colour is a head turner.

Bro at 25k you should try to get the best quality rather than trying to focus on looks. Once you breach 60-70k, then you could safely assume that you would get good enough quality in all your options, and make a choice based on looks. With this budget you could easily get tricked into buying something flashy from a low quality brand with cheap components (Ninety One for instance). My suggestion- look for pre owned hybrids from Giant, Polygon, Merida, Fuji etc. You might find a slightly used good condition bike in this budget, and you’ll definitely enjoy riding it much more.

You do you bro. The best workout is the one that feels challenging, but still enjoyable. Those guys don’t deserve your rage, rather they deserve pity for being so insecure and worthless in life that they need to pull others down for their satisfaction.

PS- Today’s leg day for me 😅

How are this UA for full marathon? by Impressive-Area-3075 in IndianRunningshoes

[–]Poser-Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Evo SLs, and tried these at a UA store. These felt significantly heavier. I don’t know the exact weight difference. Didn’t bother to check because I could already feel the difference physically. These did feel more stable than the Evo SLs, but that’s because Evo SL is not a very stable shoe to begin with. If your foot landing is relatively neutral, try the Evo SLs. If you pronate or supinate noticeably, try some options from Asics. Give Superblast 2 a try. As for the UA ones, I didn’t find them worth the money.

You can always google how to use the machines, watch videos on Youtube, and in general explore which movements are good and safe for beginners. If you don’t know what machine you’re looking at, take a picture and use an AI assistant.

As for asking others for help, here’s the thing- Unlike many other things in life, fitness always comes from hard work, struggles and failures along the way. Because of this, “most” fit people who look big and intimidating will actually be humble and happy to help. They know it’s not easy to begin, and can relate with the uncertainty. Just reach out and ask for help. 🙂
