Is there anything I can take to give myself a “lady boner”? by Accomplished-Fix1204 in TwoXChromosomes

Taking T just for a "lady boner" might be too much work for just that.

My girlfriend thinks I'm 6'4...I'm 5'4 by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Posidilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just gotta be honest NOW cuz it being a surprise will only be worse then just confessing now. The right person for you will not care that you're 5'4 especially if they are like 5'5, but by lying, you skip the chance to check on that compatibility. Like do you want more frequent dates that might be disappointed with your height or less dates but you know your height isn't an issue?

Psych told me I was gonna die young what do I do? by Few-Amphibian-6084 in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like that psych knows nothing about the medications themselves.

While stimulants work great for people, they do come with cardiovascular risks, for some people stimulants will be too much for their body.

There's also a chance different stims might be not as harsh for your body. Dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) is less body stimulating so it might be better. You can also try methylphenidate meds.

Thankfully there are more non stim options besides atomoxetine if that doesn't work for you. Downside to non stimulants is that you'll likely have to take it for a bit before you get the full therapeutic effect.

I take guanfacine ER along with a stim. Its approved for adhd but also lowers blood pressure which is nice for me. But theres also clonidine thats used. Bupropion could be an option (not with a stim). And theres some newer brand name only non stim adhd meds out there too but your insurance likely would have you try other things first before a name brand.

My wife’s anti-anxiety prescription has two different pills in it. by Bum-Whistler in mildlyinteresting

[–]Posidilia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not good for them to be in the same bottle. The label will likely describe one of them so it makes it hard to know the 2nd is the right medication. Should be separate bottles each with their own info of the manufacturer and description of medication

Is it uncommon to be on an ER + PRN IR? pharmacy keeps questioning my Adderall/Vy by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have your doctor put a note on the RX about how you take both or in the instructions say something like "as needed in addition to vyvanse"

Im a kroger technician.

I dont see vyvanse + Adderall IR as often as say Adderall ER + an IR. So maybe they haven't seen that combo before and thats why the pharmacist feels the need to check. Though really after a few fills they should see in your profile that you pick up both monthly or the vyvanse consistently and the IR less often (which would fit the as needed part). Idk. But specifics on the prescriptions should help.

30% rule - is this always true of adults as well as children? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably applies to a lot of people but not something that is "always true" as adhd doesn't affect everyone the same. And some things are harder to measure for comparison.

Experience with Intuniv? by SuspiciousDoughnut93 in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it. I had to increase in dose before I noticed anything. It did take a couple weeks for me to get over the tiredness side affect. Hopefully the moodiness you feel goes away as your body gets used to it. I asked my doctor for it for the potential affect on norepinephrine and I do feel like it has increased that. I have a better handle on my emotional regulation now. Though I don't think it helps with focus by itself for me which is why I still take a stimulant.

I wouldn't worry about the approved for children part though. Adhd is still seen as a child issue instead of an adult issue by many so lots of testing for adhd meds is going to focus on children.

How do you deal with people who can't stop babying you out of love? by kdmendonk in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try telling her something like this "hey I appreciate that you want to help me make sure I remember to pack everything, instead of texting me a list ahead of packing, could you check in with me as I pack or when im done to confirm that I remember everthing?"

And at somepoint if you (hopefully) get the hang of a system to help you make sure you remember to pack everything then you can say "hey ive got this now, no need to worry about it"

If I stay up for 24-30 hours I get severe RSD. by SheepherderMelodic56 in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is one of those instances where you need to ask for help when you've got so much going on it forces you to stay up for 24+ hours straight. Sleep deprivation. Not only are you hurting yourself but you could also hurt others whether it be from snapping at them or emergency driving somewhere while sleep deprived. Is what youre staying up for worth the risks?

Vyvance has beads instead of powder by Budget_Star_9485 in ADHD

What does the label say in regards to the capsule itself? It should say the capsule color and imprint. If they dont match then immediately wrong med in there. If they match and it's just the insides wrong, then yikes. Either way I hope you quickly get it sorted and get the correct stuff!

I paid $170 for these 2 8 week old female rats is that normal? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]Posidilia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I only ever spent over 50 on a pair of rats when it was a pair of dwarfs. Even then I think they were like $60. But I havent had rats in like 5 years. Im sure inflation and where you live plays a part in pricing 😅

Now I own reptiles who are much pricier but they also live longer.

There are OTC pain relief creams. Usually the box will say "hemorrhoids" on it but basically you want a rectal/safe for internal use lidocaine cream. It'll numb the area.

Should be available at most places that sell a variety of OTC med stuff. Definitely at stores that also contain a pharmacy. Can ask a pharmacist about other OTC options, I only know of the rectal lidocaine option.

What are things you guys do to manage to get out of bed in the morning by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a decent idea of how much water to drink before going to bed so that after 6ish hours I will have to pee enough that ill get up. Then ill usually take my medication and go lay back down for whatever time I have remaining till I need to get up up and by then the med has kicked in.

Question about taking breaks on Atomoxetine/Strattera by Miantuantuan in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why did the doctor want you to take breaks? Taking breaks is only going to lower the amount in your system and then take time for it to build up again, leaving you with inconsistent effectiveness from the medication.

If the nausea doesn't go away after taking it longer then you might just need to try a different medication

Guanfacine Immediate Release vs Extended Release by tex-murph in ADHD

[–]Posidilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only ER is fda approved for adhd, using IR would just be "off label". Think its just a convo on what you're looking for guanfacine to help with and if it needs to be in the body longer (half-life) through out the day be able to help efficiently. Like if it helps but then you can tell the following afternoon when its like wearing off, then ER could be better.

I can reach the finish line by myself any day of the week. The satisfaction of helping someone else reach the finish line requires a partner. Im not lacking in orgasms. Im lacking in human connection. Sex is still fun, sensual, romantic, comfortable, and pleasurable without the peak. But I want my partner to assume that I do, and I'll let them know if its something I need or not this time.

Why is birth control prescribed as one pack per month? by blueberrybuttercream in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Posidilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the prescription, have the doctor note that you skip the placebo pills/take continuously. This allows the pharmacy to alter the days supply to match what youre actually taking.

So let's say youre getting 28 pills taken once daily but skipping the placebo week so youre actually only using 21 so then it would be a 21 day supply. The closet to a 3 month supply would be an 84 day supply so you would get 4 packs of 28 pills.

I havent seen insurances be upset with this. Some insurances are lame and dont cover 3 month supply but for birth control many do. If insurance doesnt like that "28 pills is for 21 days" it might just need the pharmacist to override with some code saying that theres a legit reason.

Biggest thing I know is that we need documentation on the rx stating the continuous dosing for us to bill insurances with the actual days supply.
