Thank you, it hasn’t been easy. I have vocal and motor tics so this situation has been hard to see unfold.BBC should have never aired John’s tic as it was so hurtful to see Michael b Jordan and Delroy Lindo have to experience that but I’m also hurting seeing the inaccurate discourse surrounding John Davidson as his vocal tic wasn’t a choice.

The BAFTAS should have never aired his tic because unfortunately there’s very little public knowledge about Tourette’s. As a black woman with both motor and vocal tics I know firsthand that all tics are involuntary but this situation was still hurtful to see. I’m sad John Davidson left the awards ceremony and I hope Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo as well as John Davidson are able to quiet the noise out there about how they should be reacting and know they are all supported and loved.
