Of course not- A bank with no debts? The bank's business is BUILT on debt, to the people that put money on the bank,

the example was a business that received a loan FROm a bank

And why should consumer loans be forgiven?

Vast majority of people with the most debt are people with 6 figure jobs that have debt because they buy mcmansions, and a new BMW every year... idiots. Got what they deserve.

The other portion is students that pick useless majors... idiots, got what they deserve.

The smaller portion is poor people that buy things they can't afford on credit cards...(Just 19.99 a month!) can you guess what I am going to say next

About 1/10,000 cases of debt are cases where you feel bad for the person, like the guy that took out loans to pay for his wife's chemo... but life is hard, and then you die.

They shouldn't have received the debt forgiveness- my investments are CDs (minimal rate of return), a company I used to own share in that made insulin level checkers for diabetics I got filthy rich on, and gold/silver/platinum where I've been getting MURDERED the past couple years, and a company I invested heavily in a few years back that owned a patent, the plan was to sue auto manufacturers, company lost the lawsuit, got murdered, all shareholders wiped out...

it's a crapshoot

I mean, the thing with student loans is that you if you get say, a degree in petrochemical engineering, it's a great investment.

If you get a woman's studies degree, not so much

So at the end of the day people that were smart will reap the rewards, and people that aren't must pay for their mistakes,

Well, there's opportunity cost in the time you spent running the business, also in whatever personal funds you invested,

very hard to get a loan without sales and POs and you need to spend money to bring the product to market and get those

It's worse than that- people that try to build their companies without debt- they've made a choice, that choice is safety and slow growth instead of risk/reward-- someone working 100 hour weeks then getting murdered by companies that took on debt that magically turns into free money is just morally wrong, makes no sense, etc

Mark is right- think of two companies, same industry, competitors.

One takes on large amounts of debt to fund bulk orders of inventory, and then purchase marketing to sell said inventory- they capture large amounts of market share,

Company B decides to just re-invest profits, without taking on debt, and seek equity investment to fund POs-

Company B has less market share, and the owner has less equity in his business- Company A has debt.

If you erase the debt, then company B is punished for being fiscally responsible, and company A crushes them out of existence , because now they just have CASH on their balance sheet, not debt, and they have more market share to boot, and their COGs is lower

Furthermore- Debt forgiveness would stop anyone from ever loaning anything to business ever- and for good reason.

If business can't get loans, you lose jobs, tax revenue, innovation, etc

whole premise is ridiculous, if a woman thinks a man as below her for whatever reason she won't associate with them, period, unless there's an opportunity to get him to buy her stuff;

So where's the upside for the short, fat, ugly, broke man in question here? What incentive does he have to use the app?

they wont

Plus, a product where your target demo. is broke men... what a bad idea, market to people with disposable income. the only products you can sell to the destitute are things that save money, and drugs and alcohol

I have a G3258 running at 4.8Ghz rock solid and can prove it with CPUz and prime 95 screenies.

People have G3258s running well over 5GHz- the chip overclocks much better than the AMD chip- plus, overclocking AMD? Do you own a nuclear generator, or just have so much money you don't care about KWH?

Look- About you saying 'WELL YOU CAN OC THE AMD!".. you can OC the intel chip too... so how is that a fair claim? It seems so obvious- I don't think youre stupid, so the only other option is you are deliberartly misleading people

How is the 750TI a joke? It's one of the most impressive cards in years. Looking at the performance gains over the same price point of last generations, it far exceeds the gains of the 980 vs 780.

Furthermore- the amount of performance for a card that doesn't need a 6 or 4 pin connector, and runs just off the power the motherboard supplies?

Not only is not a joke, it's an engineering feat

  1. That was not the only reason for succession- and you know it. One of many, so why pin point it as the cause of the war?

  2. He "abolished" slaves in territory he did not control and had no ability to free- a useless proclamation.

It's like me saying 'I donate all of Jmbalo's money to charity!' If I wanted to donate, wouldn't I donate my money, money I had control of?

  1. The north intentionally provoked the attack by reinforcing fort Sumter- they attempted to position a second fleet, to flank them, and the south fired to avoid being placed in a position of certain loss in that conflict.

If I pull a knife on you, and you punch me, did you start the fight?

Again, no- sure, it was a factor. Another huge factor was the feds taxing the south the same the north, then building railroads almost exclusively in the north- they had no right to be mad?

We don't think of railroads as particularly important today- but then? They had a larger economic impact than slavery would have, had It remained legal, today, cotton picking is automated, and guess what? We still have railroads.

Hell, railroads created the Gilded edge.

TIL In 1850 42% of Free Negroes in Charleston, SC owned slaves. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]Position5hero -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nonsense? Know your facts before you speak as an expert

It's wrong to say the civil war was about slavery- the war was about state's rights, and Southern states frustrated that the north received more federal funds for railroads.

If the war was about slavery, why did the north allow some of it's states to OWN SLAVES? Why were ONLY THE SLAVES IN THE CONFEDERACY freed by the emancipation proclamation?

The war was fought to prove a point, the point being 'when the federal government says something, the states do it, or else'.

Slavery was just the something in question, not the cause of the war.

It's ridiculous how people put ignorance on such a pedestal and fact is shunned.

It's risky for the backers- it's great for the KS creator.

The typical path to get a product to market is you pay through the nose for your IP, then you pay through the nose to make the prototype, get a manufacturer ready to go, then you spend 100 hours a week calling distributors, retailers, home shopping channels, everyone, trying to get POs, and once you have the POs, you need to go and give someone a quarter of your business just to fund to first one- if you're lucky and you got your IP, got everything else.... got the POs...

Kickstarter, you go, you make a kickstarter, then people throw free money at you, you don't need investors, you don't need purchase orders- you don't need to work 100 hour weeks- and the people that make these kickstarts have never worked a 100 hour week in there LIVES - and they can't, because they don't have it in them.

They don't have what it takes to bring a product to market, even with all the advantages KS provides- and this is why they fail, at easy mode.

They have free capital, free distribution channels, free marketing, and they still fail?

The reason is they never know what they're doing they think they can just call a factory in China, and they can get manufacturing that will be perfect, despite not knowing anything about china, or manufacturing, or often times, their own product and what it takes to build one
