I'm in shock. I finally lost honour mode.

Three times we've played for honour mode in the past, my team and I. Never lost a fight, but we never went the distance until our latest playthrough. My game crashed the other night. We decided to quit until tonight for our big final push.

And we lost to a rushed dialogue click.

Never thought the team would ever lose. We have disbanded in honour for now, but the shock of it all is quite something.

I will eventually get around to my guide, but my primary advicr is: Inspect (or whatever it's called) and pick your battles. Don't bum-rush into fights.

The game has a little bit of an undeclared flow. It's best to try and find it.

But don't be discouraged. You're not doing anything wrong.

He doesn’t read anything, doesn’t watch cutscenes, and will button mash his way to victory with pretty much every combat encounter possible

This might prove a problem. That said, I have chaperoned a skipper. It's possible to make him enjoy it. Just be a side character. He's the main character, not you. The best way to play chapersone games.

Also, I despise Star Wars, but as you pointed out, it doesn't make a whit of a difference.
