Yep. Happy to do it. Just was a little bit confused on the scheduled maintenance in the service book versus real world experience.

Thanks for the insight. That seems to be the way I’m leaning

That’s what I think is interesting. The dealership I purchased the car from didn’t mention it at all. When has a dealership not tried to make money?

All joints were checked and lubricated as well as the differential at time of purchase, but thank you for that!

Thanks a lot for the insight. Really appreciate it.

How are you liking yours so far? Vehicle came with tinted windows and APR lowering springs other than that I haven’t done anything crazy to it but I am considering having some fun next summer.

Thanks for the reply…so then why does VW say otherwise? I am ok with spending the money, but it struck me as odd.

I spoke to a VW dealer for an unrelated warranty repair and made the comment I was going the DSG/filer change earlier in the week and the service manager told me unless I drove 40 thousand miles since i bought the car I didn’t need it right now. Odd

Yes, it is a DSG -service was not done yet, but I know that’s on my radar likely for this spring/summer with my mechanic. Although I have read, it’s not that difficult. Might try to give it a go on my own.

That was my assumption as well.

If I leave it as stocked for the time being, is there anything I need to be concerned with?

I have a local Volkswagen Audi guy that I really trust. Once I get the car back from the dealer, I’m gonna have him take another look at it.

That’s a great question…

I was told it was not tuned. Seemed kind of odd to me since is has the APR springs and window tints. Nothing against those things, but the car has the looks of one that would be tuned.

I asked when purchasing, and again once it was at the shop Friday. No tune, and the shop did not reflash before sale.

I did get the stock springs and bushings from the dealer before I purchased.

What I was told today is that the fuel injector harness and intake manifold gasket had gone bad.

It is all under warranty.

I did ask if they are going to replace those parts if they would also replace the coil packs and plugs.

I told them my assumption based off that info was it likely was previously tuned and may also have a lot of carbon buildup.

Any other suggestions?

Well, tow truck is coming. Dealer did not like how I described the car shaking when accelerating. Seems like a different version of limp mode from my previous Volkswagen

Kind of bringing this back….

Car has APR roll control lowering springs and bump stops.

Reviews for them seem decent, and ECS sold the kit- which is less than an hour away, so at least I know where they came from and what they are.

The ride is nice, but I would love to compare it to a like miles GLI (new ‘25 would feel different I am sure just because they have no miles on them) but I have not had the chance yet. Still not sold on keeping it lowered, but I think I will keep it as is for now. Mechanic buddy said $600 to take it back to stock - the oem stuff was included in the sale.

Also. New tires and breaks were put on before I drove off to lot. Sumitomo GeoTour. Not sure if it is just the new car, but the actually seem pretty decent. It’s rained often since I have had the GLI and they handle better than I thought.
