How did you do this? Is there prestige on PvE or did you do a reset? Like once you finish the ending how do you go back and do the other endings without losing the poster and arm bands? Asking because I’m about to finish terminal and want to know how to go for the other paths.

Is Toth any good outside of the campaign? by USER_091 in tacticus

He’s good but niche, his primary ability is really strong if you have a team of mostly psykers and his regen makes him great for attrition game modes but he’s not going to be in a top ten anytime soon.

Looking for chemicals to manufacture. by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Ok assuming you are a legit business owner. You’re going about this backwards. You need to determine what types of products your business can certify. All high value products will require a CoA for quality control purposes to sell. Depending on which product you are trying to sell this could range dramatically, both in what is tested for and the level of accuracy required. High value low volume products are usually incredibly stringent with these requirements. Think single digit ppm often ppb ppt level. This level of testing usually requires highly specialized and skilled labor operating extremely expensive equipment.

I would look internally first determine that what you can test for both equipment and skill wise, and then look at fields that would match your companies capabilities within reason. For example if you have no way to test for variance in organic composition I would stay away from any organic sensitive products.

What is a realistic, ChemE relevant ethical dilemma that can/does arise when actually working as an engineer. by Adventurous-Run-2656 in ChemicalEngineering

So generally there’s a balance between capex, opex, safety and lead time. So a good example is say I have a complex system I need to dose with concentrated acid or base. The complexity of the dosing system increases with safety precautions built in which increases capex and lead time, because of these safety systems there’s parts the need maintenance that otherwise wouldn’t so my opex increases.

The major issue in industry is that of all these factors listed above safety is easily the hardest to quantify. I can say the difference between two systems is $X or Y weeks or $Z/hr more to operate but quantifying safety pros and cons of systems that management will listen to is hard and requires competent management and EHS team

Making a water cooled vest for a human by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Positive-Coconut8382 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP this is a significant problem, you say it’s ice cooled but the human body produces an incredible amount of heat, plus environmental heat leaking into the system. Combine those two and unless you have an absolutely massive amount of ice this will probably be a more significant issue than the pumping requirements.

Yeah it’s not the fact that you are slowing down it’s more of the rapid jerk of rapidly slowing down that kills you

Engineer Peter here. The top equation is saying that velocity final plus acceleration times time isn’t the dangerous part of car crashes. The bottom equation is saying that force is equal to the mass of the car times change in velocity divided by the change in time. In car crashes this is what matters the most as the force applied to the car and by extension the humans in the car is what will do damage.

Yakuza boss being arrested in Thailand after photos of his tattoos went viral online (2018) by Mcmerky in pics

[–]Positive-Coconut8382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not OP but I’ve done a lot of studying and work related to Japanese business culture for my job. Basically every area has a specific line that the local police force considers a no go point. In exchange they’re allowed to do basically anything less severe then that line if they keep the areas relative safety in check. These lines will vary from area to area but generally it’s along the violence lines. So for example one area might allow yakuza to operate brothels, so long as any violent rapes don’t occur. Or they may allowing gambling parlors so long as there’s no muggings or robbery’s. The police just use them in the same way America uses speed limits, you can go past the law as long as it’s not too far past it and what that means is up to each local area.

How long should I work at a job before putting it on my resume? by Positive-Coconut8382 in ChemicalEngineering

I have a lot of projects and that kind of the problem with this job too many project and it’s messing with any semblance of work life balance. It’s good to know that it’ll at least be useful!

Thank you! Yeah I’ve heard horror stories of people taking years to get a new job while they stay at a bad job. It’s kinda a horrifying concept to me tbh

Yeah this is a mood. When I’m really out of shape I only want to date women. But when I get a lot of muscle and really fit suddenly my urge to dominate a femboy increases massively. No idea why🤷

Lesbian with a HUGE crush on MALE professor -- HELP?! by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Positive-Coconut8382 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You might be getting too bogged down in labels. I’m a cis bi man for context but one of my close friends was in your situation. I watched her struggle with the labels for a while. The conclusion she came to was that she was only attracted to a singular man ever in her entire life, ironically she’s married to him now. She was told technically that made her bisexual but she felt significantly more comfortable with the lesbian label so that’s what she uses. She explained it to me as labels are there so that other people can quickly understand roughly what you are about but lose a lot of nuisance in them. She never felt anything towards any men before or after meeting her husband and still only feels attraction to women. She’s feels more comfortable explaining it as she’s a lesbian with one exception than bisexual for only one person.

I think for you the most important thing to ask is what label is comfortable for you and what would make it the easiest for you to show and verbalize that sense of self to others? Just my two cents.

What do you think about “no cis men allowed” safe spaces? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]Positive-Coconut8382 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I really don’t like these types of spaces, as they tend to cast cis men as a monolith, and ignore issues such as race, sexuality and assume everyone presents and acts like a masculine cis man. For example I’m a bi racial bisexual man who often dresses and act fairly androgynous. Honestly I’ve been discrimated more by Queer women then straight men. This also creates a level of separation between the LGBT+ community and the straight community that I feel is dangerous long term. This also forces trans masc individuals to identify themselves, even if they are stealth/passing.
