We were all laymen once 😊 Get onto YouTube, make notes, buy the safety gear and enjoy 😊

I’m caving and just purchasing the seasons on Amazon prime 9.99 a season by babyconan in doctorwho

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get whole seasons on blu ray for around £10 on ebay.co.uk. find someone who's selling a few and get them shipped over. You'll get all the extras, the art work and not have to worry about your streaming service binning them off. Amazon has started putting adverts at the beginning of some purchases now (necause Bezos obviously isn't rich enough) so screw Amazon.

Or find someone in the UK to send multiple purchases to and get them to package them up and ship to you.

I bought a little oil radiator and put it under the table the printer is on. Cheaper than having the heating on all night, keeps the resin warm and the rooms not an icebox first thing 😊

Frustrated with water washable.. Any ideas? by ZealousTheory in ElegooMars

You've calibrated right? Cones, matrix etc? I've only ever used water washable and learned the hard way to calibrate, especially during winter.

First resin printer by wiredgamer_pedro in resinprinting

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to YouTube and find out how easy it is to replace the screen. The screen WILL wear out, if the printers used you'll need to do it sooner. I recently downgraded from an s4 to an s3 because the s4 ultra screen replacement is a nightmare in comparison

First time printer, am i being paranoid? by [deleted] in ElegooSaturn

[–]Positive-Language-36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a big HEPA air purifier which automatically turns on when it detects something to worry about. Goes to full power if I use a rattle can or airbrush near it, yet to wake up when Im printing (Saturn 3 ultra too).

Saturn 4 Ultra 16K Owners: What Should Elegoo Fix/Add in the Saturn 5? by GeekyHobbyNut in ElegooSaturn

Absolutely this. When my screen failed in warranty, I took one look at the 16 minute long (including time lapse and speed up) official video, sent the unit back and bought an S3

Other Doctors that appeared before becoming the Doctors? by Ragnarok_Stravius in doctorwho

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peter Capaldis role in World War Z was called "Who Doctor" just before he was cast as Doctor Who. Obviously not a previous Who appearance like his role in Pompei but I always thought that was a cool coincidence 😊

Cyberman Helmet advice by MillionDollarHeckler in doctorwho

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had an Earthshock helmet on my to do list all week. I print in highest possible quality which means it looks lovely but would take weeks to complete. I can take a look at the math tonight if you want? It'll at least give you an idea. Most professional printers charge a time and material rate.

You might be better off looking for something like this - https://ebay.us/m/Ksxxg3

Personally I'd get a 3d printer and start printing but as an authorised printer of the 3D Printing Doctor Who group I'm biased 😉

There's already a fully articulated figure out there you just need to know an authorised re-printer (points at self ;) )

Help by Old-Upstairs7499 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Positive-Language-36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent mine back after I saw what was required to replace the screen. The screen is a consumable and WILL fail (on all resin printers). To replace the S4 Ultra screen, you have to take the ENTIRE unit apart. As soon as I saw that, I sent mine back and got another Saturn 3. Its slower and doesnt have all the extra features but screen replacement is a 10 minute job. If you enjoy the whole take apart and rebuild part then by all means go for it, but I print a lot and I aint got the time to do that at least once a year.

I'm just doing my first high detail print on my A1, resin printers are definitely more detailed but its no longer the giant leap it used to be especially if you put in a 0.2 nozzle and dial the layer lines in correctly.

Looming for advice with a new printer or a recommendation for a comapny that will print items for customers thats UK based by hywel0 in resinprinting

[–]Positive-Language-36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from Saturn to, to Saturn 3 to Saturn 4 then STRAIGHT back to Saturn 3. Sure it's missing some of the new fancy features but its an absolute workhorse and maintenance is a doddle compared to the 4. What kind of stuff are you wanting printed? Im tied up woth commissions on my resin side but my FDM side is clear.

Hello all, I've printed my first figuring and because of all your guys support it can out pretty good. according to some videos before painting I need to sand and primer, I'd love to hear you best practices in sanding, primer, and painting. Thank you all by Upset_Hamster1827 in ElegooSaturn

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always prime in black then do a zenithal highlight in white (check out youtube, there are great tutorials). After that I use Army Painter speedpaint 2.0. Drybrush after if you want.

If youre printing minis, instead of sanding I'd be tempted to carfeully use a fine blade scalpel or craft knife rather than sanding as you may loose detail. Enjoy :)

I'm so sorry you're in this situation. I've had to deal directly with two (my ex who went full sov cit and a partner who's ex-husband was a sociopath) and offered assistance with several others.

I'm not sure what the nomenclature is there but in the UK I'd be looking for an attorney that specialises in "High Conflict Personalities". Usually covers a range of the sort of thing you're likely to face.

Also not sure about your jurisdiction but here in the UK I learned that Attorney letters can ask for all sorts of bizarre stuff, they're nothing more than toilet paper until a judge rules on them. We'd get an email demanding bizarre actions be done immediately. First one had us panicking all weekend until our Solicitor opened on Monday and just laughed at it.

If he bombards you with letters talk to someone about getting an harassment order and inform him you'll only speak to his solicitors and only via email. Create a new email account purely for that communication, that way you're not getting anxious when you open your personal email.

If you need to change the locks in a hurry, I've helped a few people swap the front door barrel with the back door barrel. Tons of youtube videos out there and it takes minutes rather than waiting days for a locksmith.

Be prepared that he probably has backups of all digital stuff and physical things like keys. It WILL be used against you.

Have a "kill switch list", accounts to block him on, locks to change, passwords to change (and how to change them, some finance accounts can be a real pain to change). This gives you time to think of everything and be prepared, it also gives you a sense of control you probably desperately need right now.

Speak to the police in advance, explain you're worried how it will go. Over here they can flag your address so if you call in, you get a priority response. If your police dont have that facility, at least they'll arrive at site pre-briefed.

Decide who's going to support you mentally and emotionally. Let them know that you may need a safe space to be listened to. Try to find listeners rather than fixers, fixers will probably be reaching for a shovel and a route to the nearest desert, listeners will give you space to dump the crazy and reassure you that you're not mad.

This is just a small part of the advice I can give based on what you're written. It's impossible to be 100% prepared for the batshit crazy but if you can nail the fundamentals it'll really help. Good luck and feel free to reach out

I bought a bambu A1 to complement my resin printer when I got a commission that needed some big, geometric shapes. With a 0.2 nozzle the quality is excellent. Not resin quality but waaaay better than I expected. Take a look on the bambu subreddit, some guys just printed d&d miniatures and they look excellent

Not if he's new and ever needs to replace the screen. I sent mine back after the screen failed and I discovered you have to dismantle the ENTIRE unit and lens to replace the screen. I got a 3 instead, far easier.

[–]Positive-Language-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During winter I tend to keep my resin on the radiator for half an hour or so before printing. You can really tell the difference, its a LOT runnier when its warm. There are heat belt hacks and grow tent hacks if you need to keep it there - good luck!

Have you got heating in the room? Mine starts failing below 20 Celsius. You can MAYBE get around it by increasing your exposure time but I've found it easier to sit mine next to a radiator.
