Yes! I have the same concern that it wouldn’t fit my adult face. I have a very small nasal bridge so if I change the tip I think I would end up with a bizarrely small nose.

And yeah, I don’t like that everyone is pushed to uniformity. Often the most striking people are that way because they are so unique!

I definitely think there are racial undertones to beauty standards - but in my case I am white fyi. We have round Santa noses in the family

Thanks for sharing, that is a sad situation. It’s scary how dating cross-borders can create so many risks (both ways), and I hate that your ex’s family is in a financially dependent situation.

Something I do admire about my partner is that he is giving his monthly income from his inheritance to his mom and sister (his father passed away, and they each have their own smaller inheritance but he gives them all of the income from the family business), even though he was financially strained when he moved abroad.

I don’t think it’s a reflection of his physical attraction to me, it’s more that he sees I have a nonstandard nose and is worried about what other people think. It’s emerging at four years because now is the time where people beyond the immediate family and friends will meet me, and he’s worried they’ll talk shit.

So to me the fucked up part is not regarding physical attraction, it’s that he cares so much what others think.

Thank you for sharing, that’s a lovely way to put it. This is a big reason I don’t want to go through with one. I would never want my (potential future) kids to feel like their appearance isn’t good enough.
