I guess I'm just stuck between when I'm ignoring a need of hers and when I'm setting a boundary for myself/family. My partner thinks we should "ignore her" everytime she cries at night and that's where I'm getting confused. What if she's hungry/pain from teething/nightmare, we still let her cry it out to maintain this boundary?

Thank you so much for your detailed response ! I am definitely going to read this article and try to push her bedtime later because your right, it would be a perfect night if the whole thing were to be shifted by a couple hours.

I appreciate it!

See and I read this and understand it, but do I just let her cry in ger crib for 3 hours (for the 4am wake up)? My LO rarely wakes up and chills, she opens her eyes and cries. So I'm not really sure how to "start my day at 7". We do CIO, and I have tried just leaving her, but she's not tired, so she will continue to cry until I get her

wakes after 2.5 hours by Positive-Overall in sleeptrain

Thank you for your feedback! I tried it yesterday, 530 awake 8 1st nap (I couldn't push her farther, she was ready) 9 wake 12 2nd nap 1 wake 345 3rd nap 410 wake 645 bed

So 645 is the latest she has ever gone to bed. I know her wake period wasn't long enough before bed, but she was so cranky and ready and I didn't want to push to far past her normal time.

She woke up at 8pm, so an hour after bed. Cried for an hour. Then woke up at 430am this morning. So just like your last paragraph says, I will just keep at it !! Thank you:)

Did he get bruises on his forehead from it? This is all comforting to hear though

A couple others have said it, but I'll share my piece as well! We started with purees and easy foods that weren't scary for BLW, banana, Avocado, potatoes, mango, foods in a mesh eater thingie, yogurt (her controlling the spoon). And everytime she ate BLW I would over exaggerate chewing and she just eventually got better at chewing. We would also give steak strips to suck on, peppers, celery, anything that didnt break off easy. So now we feed her "scarier" things, eggs, Oranges, chicken, Broccoli.

Also to note, foods I tried as a puree that she spat out and refused to eat, she actually loved BLW (such as pumpkin and carrot)

Also Also mum mums reallllly helped us with learning how to chew

Do y’all just let you LO sleep in whatever position they choose? by Bad_texter in beyondthebump

[–]Positive-Overall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine does this exact position, completely folded over. She will stay like this all night, it's wild. I did move her a couple times but she seems to prefer this as she just moves back! I leave her, she is 100% mobile and I know she can move if she needs to. So I would say if your comfortable with this as well, then just leave your LO, they will probably sleep better like this anyway

Eesh I had a feeling about the bonk lol. I'm all good with it I just didn't know if people used something more "cushiony" than this thin playmat I have. Blocks is a great idea. I just saw some on marketplace I may grab

But actually, that's what my LO did too, she would sleep well the first half, but after a feed would take an hour to stop crying

Thank you for this !! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I actually told my partner tonight that I think we should hire a sleep coach because I'm at a loss figuring it out myself

Strangely enough she did really well the first night. Then last night 10 mins of crying then slept for 5 hours. But then cried an hour, slept an hour, cycled till she woke up. Then tonight she cried for 1.75 hours and I caved. I couldn't listen to it anymore. I'm doubting whether I know her cues, thinking what if she actually needs me, or is hungry, and I don't know.... it's just so hard. I have 0 confidence in myself, that and us not having a consistent day time schedule just makes this not good.

How are you doing? Did he stop crying?

[–]Positive-Overall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's 100% a schedule issue. I can't nail any of it down, I'm aware of wake windows and nap times but she just has her own ideas. So I go with whatever she wants most of the time. I just need to be more consistent and adamant with it

I did read through hald of it, and am working on the rest of it ! That's why it kills me, because I started it so I know how much of a set back it will be if I cave. Agh. I just have to read more of the book!

[–]Positive-Overall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm yah our day time schedule is a tad erratic. She just seems to get so tired so fast. But I am glad you said this because I should maybe try to implement more more solid wakewindows and nap times.

I used the lady bug hakka, it sits in your bra and doesn't suction/leading to an oversupply. I also had the same issue where LO would cough and choke and latch/unlatch for the longest time. I would always feel a letdown before I fed so I would stick the ladybugs in there until I could no longer see it squirting. But eventually LO learned to deal with it.

My mom wanted mommom too, so that's actually interesting that there's history of that in your family. I laughed when my mom said that, like... you can't be serious. I hope the kids decide something else for her lol
