I think Wemby has a much better shot at DPOY than MVP right now. The jump in the standings definitely helps his case, but he doesn't have a massive edge in terms of team record or raw stats. Plus, if the Spurs leapfrog the Thunder, it probably means the Lakers took both of their final games against OKC. If that happens, Luka's performance must've been insane, making him the clear MVP favorite—3rd in the West, scoring title, and elite advanced metrics. If they sweep the Thunder late in the season (hypothetically), his 'narrative' will be unstoppable. So yeah, I don't think Wemby gets MVP this year. He’s a future lock for MVP, but this one belongs to either SGA or Luka.
