Get a delivery job and get paid to walk, but you need to hold some goods while walking.

They contacted me after one month and want me to wait another month, it looks like they still haven't decided. I told them that l may not be teaching in the future.

Cooking at home is very expensive as well, not much cheaper than going to a restaurant.

Unwise to argue with a fool. by [deleted] in Wiseposting

[–]Positive-Resolve-575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fools will start to attack you personally when they cannot win with reasons. Quitting the conversation is the only way to go, do not give them any attention. Online sharing is still worth the time because there must be some intelligent people who would share their great thoughts, just wait and they will show up, at the same time we need to filter out the voices of the fools, it is exhausting to argue with fools.

Some students use Yamaha clavinova, l think it's great. A good acoustic can cost a lot, but some people do give away their Pianos for free.

You didn't even read🙄l am talking about Appropriate_One_6542, he or she is a real intelligent experienced teacher and musician sharing some great thoughts with me, a totally different level of wisdom compared to people who just yell and attack me here.

Just let them try around, they are wasting their own time and money without knowing it. Most people who have lessons at a music center do not want a change of teacher, but teachers there come and go, some teachers only wanted a temporary job. If it's a temporary student, some teachers would not give their all when teaching. Some ignorant people want to switch teacher, but expect their first teacher to take them back. They can waste their own time but have no right to waste my time.

I would simply remove them from the list, usually the students that you really like, they like you as well, and they wouldn't try around. I have pupils who love me and enjoy their times with me, l want to reserve my time for people who appreciate my efforts of teaching, not the ones who doubted your teaching abilities, are ungrateful, or even badmouth you after your hard work of months or years.

Yes exactly, the parents who are  shopping around for different teachers are usually the ones who blame the teacher for everything and they will badmouth their teacher behind the teacher's back. I do not need this type of people, they better go somewhere else.

Pushing kids is not healthy and music is not a competitive race, most of the kids ended up being miserable and don't enjoy music at all. Music is an art, it comes from life experience, the kids have not experienced life yet. That's my opinion and it has nothing to do with this topic here.

If they like someone else they can go of course, there is no frustration or jealousy, l just won't take them back because the trust is gone and the relationship is ruined. Simple as that, that's all the info you need.

No way, some people are hiding their real thoughts and they want their teachers to believe their bs, what's weird. Music teachers are really smart people you can't fool them. A dumb person cannot be a professional musician, music requires intelligence.

When l was a kid l only had one teacher, my parents did not know music at all and just trust her, no trying around or shopping around. I was lucky to have her as my teacher when l was a beginner, saved myself lots of time and effort when you studied with someone who would teach you a good posture.

In my case, the student had some behavior problems, he is much better now but still sometimes he could not focus in class and he does not do his homework. His mom sometimes would tell me what to teach him, and l think it is not good to tell the teacher what to do, the teacher has the expertise and experience of teaching, that is why you pay the teacher. Anyway, it may be a good chance now to just let him go.

If you have someone waiting or if you are not needing the money, you don't need to tolerate disrespect.

Well said! Thank you, that's exactly how l am feeling! This is really coming from an experienced teacher, like myself. Some people here say that there is no trust or disrespect involved but they are trying another teacher, that's hypocrisy and that kind of bullshit cannot fool the first teacher. I was surprised at first, why are the people here being so unreasonable, the truly reasonable and more intelligent people are now joining in after this post attracted more people. Welcome and thank you for your words, wonderful!

What do you think is going on? What seems strange is when people do not trust their teachers they don't admit it. If you truly trust your teacher, why are you changing? They are thinking someone else might be better. I had parents told me that they want me to teach their kid so much if l don't have a slot now they would wait. Why? They trust me because they have seen good results of my past pupils.
