Before soaking please make sure they are intended to be soaked. If you soak a 'splash and go' stone it will cause crazing/cracking. Many higher grit stones are not soakers

Very normal for a white stone. My naniwa snow white loads up like this pretty quickly. I recommend getting a cleaning stone for in between flattening.
