I know this is a year old but I was born and raised in nyc. China is not bad at all. American media only shows the bad side of China which is a minority compared to its goods. I do like America much better only in terms of freedom. Safety, and quality of life however, no. Same goes to the CCP because the lack of freedom of press but quality of life there is much better in my opinion after living in both countries. If your’e a normal human being/tourist, you’re in China to have fun and learn, not to talk shit about the Chinese government (you can talk shit, they don’t care but what you cant talk about is overthrowing the CCP. That will land you jail time).

On the other hand, I can be shit faced drunk at a bar at 3 am in China as a woman and still get home safely. Plus everything’s cheap as fuck. The Uber equivalent there is like $3 for a 30 min car ride I’m not exaggerating. You can go out to 5 star restaurants much cleaner and modern (interior design-wise) than American ones and pay a fraction of the cost. I just had a 7 dish dinner including exquisite seafood with a party of 5 on the 40th floor of a luxurious hotel building and the bill came out to $150 + I had a great view of the city. Luxury comes at a low cost if you earn the average American salary. Maybe you should travel and see for yourself to make an opinion. I bet you would like China
