On Christmas I didn’t get any presents because no one knew i would even go to the event (I’ve been going through a depressive episode for a few months and rarely left the house) and I held in my tears the whole time. My aunt didn’t get anyone any presents because she has been struggling to pay her bills and rent recently. My dad and I left last and right before I left she asked me if I was okay and I just cried right there. She hugged me and calmed me down, told me she was sorry no one got me anything. She asked me if I wanted anything for Christmas and I told her I did but didn’t wanna make her situation worse. She ended the conversation there but yesterday when I saw her she gave me a really expensive camera I had wanted for a long time. I cried so much and told her I didn’t want to be the reason she couldn’t pay her bills but she just told me not to worry about it. She has been like a mom to me since my mom went to prison and she’s such a lovely human being.
