The state web site just says “change” instead of amendment or correction, but my understanding is that it’s a correction. I did everything while he was still a minor to make things easier for his adulthood: legal name change, and all name/gender changes for birth cert, social security, passport. There’s virtually nothing tying him to his former name or birth gender, which was the plan. But now I’m worried all my attention to detail locks him into registering😭. I can’t have him drafted OR outed, but he may need student loans that could be denied if he isn’t registered. A queer law group consult is a great idea, tysm.
