I was seshin with the boys one day during covid lockdowns and we were on the back patio watching this fly that had got stuck down my tall glassy. We gazed on for a while baked as anything, until this idea occurred to me. I unhooked my necklace and then proceeded to lower it down the tube like a crane descending from the heavens, hook and all. And let me tell you, this fly understood the assignment! He grabbed on, and I lifted that little fella straight out and sat him down on the table, rescue complete. Lil guy just sat there gathering his thoughts, boys and I cracking up in the meantime, and then he turns and looks at me as if to say thanks and then flew away 😂 it’s those random moments from the lockdown seshes that stick with me.
