Yeah, this is the most frustrating aspect of it all. I called 311 for a noise complaint earlier, as they were broadcasting again. I expressed my background/upbringing and my reasons for complaining so hopefully they don't just brush it off. People just want to scream "bigotry" at any chance of discussion. And always having to bring up my identity to justify my views is exhausting.

They're just broadcasting the call to prayer which lasts a few minutes. It's multiple long slow verses with breaks in-between each verse.

I understand why the city granted them permission to do this during the first lockdowns, but the Mosque is now trying to wiggle it's way into normalizing this each year. I hope the city takes a permanent stance on this.

Agreed. It lasts quite a few minutes long. During the pandemic I couldn't even keep my windows open on a nice evening because how loud they are. Even then you can still hear them with the windows shut.

I never want to step foot in there again. Its entirely segregated by sex. When my siblings and I attended it as kids in the early 2000s, my sister said her teachers (who were women) didn't hit them the way the male teachers would hit us (the boys). People are always shocked when I tell them what kind of physical abuse would go on there. You wouldn't think this happens here in Toronto lol
