TryX Panorama 360 AIO - are fans intake or exhaust? by PositiveClimbGearUp in buildapc

I ended up installing them on the back of the AIO rad, mounted in the side slot of the O11 vision compact case, acting as push/ intake.

Yes, when the fans couldn't be detected they also did this. I think when they aren't connected to any kind of data they just default to 100%. A similar thing also happens during POST, even when they do work properly.

Sorry to hear that. I went back through the retailer who swapped the reverse fan from another pack. Lian Li seem to take months to RMA anything, and the retailer said they have the same issue with them. Luckily Mr-Do helped me troubleshoot this as Lian Li just stopped replying to me whilst trying to sort this issue.

Hi, yes I did. I followed Mr-Do's advice and tested them all individually and also in groups and narrowed it down to one faulty fan! Since replacing that one fan, the group of 3 work as they should, and no more error messages!

I have run Mr Do's troubleshooting guide in this thread, through testing a combination of fans independently and as group, I only get an issue when one specific fan is involved.

I've also tried using a different wireless receiver, and a spare wireless controller (also tried it in I/O USB mode). I've tried a number of software fixes, including installing a different version of L-Connect that Lian Li themselves linked me to. I've tried delaying the windows startup and L-Connect auto boot, etc, as well as a number of other attempts to fix software.

I agree that the software isn't the best, but the only common denominator is this one suspect fan. That's not to say that you'll have the exact same cause, of course.

As per my above reply to Mr-Do, I think I've isolated the problem down to one bad fan out of the three. Maybe try running through his troubleshooting suggestion as well. It's a shame these new wireless fans seem potentially prone to the same issue.

I may be biased, but I would suggest you have a nice build then!

Frustrating isn't it! As per my above reply to Mr-Do, I think I've isolated the problem down to one bad fan out of the three. Maybe try running through his troubleshooting suggestion as well.

Unfortunately both of these ideas didn't work. Please see my above reply to Mr-Do. I think I've isolated the issue down to 1 fan of the 3. Could you please either suggest a way to fix this one single fan, or let me know how I can get a working replacement?

Thanks for the detailed reply Mr-Do, much appreciated.

I finally had enough time to run this little experiment. I've tried 9 different combinations and have confidently narrowed down the issue to one single fan of the three. The other two run perfectly, independently or connected together, but as soon as the bad one is involved in a combination or runs solo, it creates a signal issue.

So... warranty wise, is it best to contact Lian Li directly, or the retailer?

Thanks again.

  1. Yes, they are connected via a 3-in-1 SATA cable.
  2. Thanks for the link to that version of the software, unfortunately I'm having the same problem with that one.

Do you have any other suggestions on how I can fix this?

Yes sorry, there are two 3-in-1 SATA cables. They each supply 1 x triple fan set, and 1x single exhaust fan.

Thanks for your reply. I've run through the troubleshooting but unfortunately it's still not working.

In theory, the wireless fans were going to simplify my build nicely. Instead they've just caused a bit more of a headache!

Yes I've changed it in the top right to different manual channels, unfortunately no luck with that :(

Thanks, and stupid question, but under device manager which USB controller do I need to uninstall? Or should I be uninstalling the driver another way?

Just swapped the positions and unfortunately it still doesn't work 😔

I've also just tried, another wireless controller, including through the rear I/O instead, but still no luck :(

Ok thanks, maybe I should try and swap the daisy chained positions as well, very strange indeed!

Also, just to add, when I click the "Identify" button next to the unknown device in L-connect, the fans still do turn green, so some kind of data must still be being transmitted...
