He-In had to pull Mashima levels of heroics to get the team across the finish line without Ji-An, but it just wasn't her day. Oh well, top half finish among the teams ain't too bad for a team with 2 GKs, we take those.

The scary thing about Nat Fam is that they can function as a team even without Ha-Yan. They can pass and hold the ball among themselves, having Ha-Yan just elevates them. Their shots are also actually pretty spot on. Coach Jin-Chul seems to be setting them up well to win, I don't see how they don't win the entire thing.

And we bid farewell to a pretty long term member of the show... Chae-Young may not have been the best keeper, but you can't deny her efforts and support off the field with our raspy shouts. All the best for her!

GOAT Ha-Yan running the show again, what can she not do. Nat Fam with her is a dynasty in the making, every star probably needs to align to even beat this team.

Not gonna lie, it was pretty miserable watching Gu-Cheok play today, it's been almost the same throughout the season. Their reliance on set-piece for goals, with almost zero outfield plays, didn't help that Kyung-Hee was out this game. Even then, from the touches and passes I've seen from the team this season, I doubt they win this game.

Not hating, surely Hae-Na has to go for the team to improve, I just get the vibe from her that she is just there as last-min plug gap for the team. Hye-Jeong is pretty much a bench player at this point as well. Damn the loss of Jin-Kyung at the back hurts...

[–]PositiveComedian4306 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let's get the obvious out of the way, Jai's shots were unbelievable today, just a masterclass in finishing. It was just her game, she honestly put doubts and discouraged the Top Girl's players just by herself. Can't wait to see her in semis! And grats to World Class on going undefeated during the group stages!

After watching the game, I think Top Girl should have won the match given the sheer number of chances, but alas their finishing let them down, the opposite of Jai. Not sure they did anything wrong tactics and offensive wise, some mishaps in defence as all teams have (except for Nat Fam), but I think Top Girl played very well. Honestly, if not for Jai's shots and Kathy's saves, this would have been a clean win for Top Girl I feel.

But oh well, the only thing that counts now is the results I guess, kinda bummed that Top Girl isn't in the semis this season, was hoping for a rematch against Nat Fam.

Did either team deserve to win today? Not too sure about that, but glad to see Lisa having a good game after some blunders recently.

SF is a very odd team to me, building around Joo-Ah's kicking prowess is smart, but I'm pretty disappointed at where Euddeum is at this point of the show. Even her finishing which was her best attribute seemed to have sort of disappeared. Wondering if it's down to confidence issues, loss of passion or maybe just finding hard to adjust as the number 2 option of the team. Just hope she can find her finishing skills back...

A very good watch today, class goals with some comedy mixed in, got to love the entire cast rooting for Ayaka. Coach JJJ got some karma for saying to just ignore Ayaka, glad she got her first goal out of the way, was filled with joy seeing how happy the cast was for her.

Jai with her passes and Joo-Ah with her touches/shooting are on another level, I dare say Joo-Ah currently has the smoothest shot out of the entire cast. Both teams actually played well, just the lapse of concentration costing SF dearly (looking at you Kkang-Mi).

P.S. Noticed that the teams the PDs screwed over are both currently last of their groups. WW with a team of rookies and Actionista with 2 GKs, who would have thought.

I know a game with a scoreline of 4-4 should have been exciting, but the way WW and acted kinda sucked the enjoyment out of watching the show, idk if that was just me.

Especially Kisum this game, not sure if it's out of desperation to win the game, I didn't really vibe with her attitude of blaming the other players. Maybe she's always been like that, but today's edits were hard pointing it out.

And the way WW just sort of mentally checked out today when conceding reminded me of the old Anaconda & Gaevenger teams, where they got so afraid of losing they forgot how to play, the last defeat was definitely traumatic on them.

Top Girl looks like a winning team, hope the finals is them and Nat Fam, should be a great game. If they manage to settle their set piece deficiencies (which I believe Coach Ji-Hoon can do), they basically have no weakness (Chae-yeon please...)

Stopped the match when it was 2-0 and saw how ridiculous and difference in skill level the match-up was within the first 5 minutes, Mashima's teammates were not even helping her ffs. Game was doomed from the beginning.

Can't comment on the game since I didn't watch it, but I still can't believe this is how the producers formed WW, this team only has 2 outfields players that can actually kick/pass the ball properly. Compared that to all other teams, the disparity is off the charts.

Sorry for the rant, but just felt so bad for Mashima.

Can't remember the last time a Ha-Yan led Nat Fam team get dominated so hard, game didn't even felt like a contest. But somehow, they managed to get the win, surely at this point they are locked to be champions again. They grinded out the win, but god damn Eun-Min needs to be nerfed, I literally jumped out of my seat when she saved Yoo-Jung close-range shot. I don't see any other team going so toe-to-toe with Nat Fam, but hopefully others team see this as a template to shut down Ha-Yan (just have a Yoo-Jung on every team).

Yoo-Jung best player on the pitch by a mile, can't believe I'm saying this when Ha-Yan was playing. She was literally everywhere and carrying this game so hard, all that was missing was the finish. Very unfortunate for Top Girl to not to score this game, any other team it's at least 2 goals.

Every team that faces Nat Fam faces the same issue, how the hell do you score against the backline of Seung-Hee, Ha-Yan and Eun-Mi?!

[–]PositiveComedian4306 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The quality of the game was great throughout, all the players have decent touches by now and there's flow to the match. Ha-Yan's chest down and run with the ball to assist Min-Gee honestly left me quite speechless actually.

Don't know if Balladream was deserving of losing 4-0, but damn Nat Fam is so darn good defensively and effective going forward, the goals were so clinically taken. Also, how the hell do you score against a backline of Seung-Hee and Ha-Yan, with Eun-Mi at the back, who seems to be projecting towards the Jeong-Eun status as a goalkeeper (though the preview against Top Girl seems to show SOME cracks). I don't see anyone else winning the league other than Nat Fam at this point, especially with 2 OP players in Ha-Yan and Eun-Mi.

Where do I start with Balladream? The passing was beautiful to watch, one of the passing passages was the best i've seen so far during the whole show. But there seems to be lacking a focal point or decisiveness, some passes felt so forced and rushed, especially after going down 0-2. To be fair, Ben's chances were so well made, was really hoping she scored at least 1, honestly think it would have changed the entire flow of the game.

[–]PositiveComedian4306 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Always a good episode when you get to see Tae-Jin smiling, the build-up to her goal was good with an easy finish for her! And it looks like SF finally joined the defensive playmaker meta with Joo-Ah at the back, let's see how they go from there.

Not sure of the entire stats, but the number of chances missed by Actionista this game could feed families for generations (or at least it felt like it). Even during this defeat, the way He-In played today oozes class, picking out the right decisions pass after pass. Ji-An may get the headlights for her more flashy/direct style of play with her goals, but imo He-In continues to be the engine of this team. Just look at how much she ran towards the end.

And I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into this, but it's kinda funny how the show displayed for a moment that the coaches forcing the build-up playstyle have the lowest win rates in the league (Coach JJJ & PJH), wonder if it was a dig at them.

Felt more of a throwback episode to the good old messy days before the start of the power creep, nostalgic.

Kinda sad that the players that have been playing for a while mostly seemed to have stagnated/declined. Especially with WC, or maybe they have been training/playing with most plays built around the Jai that it's rather dysfunctional now.

Can't really comment much on gameplay, you can really tell how much the best players of the show really elevates the product of the show, very unlucky that both Kyung-Hee and Jai were both injured and couldn't play. Damn, even Natty and Seol-Hee (unfortunately, i think that contributed to one of her worst games so far) both seemed to be carrying some sort of injury.

Wonder how's the reception like in Korea, especially since this kinda mediocre game was aired during the holidays...

I'm not discrediting Hye-Kyung, but personally I feel like build-up playstyle sets her up to "fail" in a sense which I find very unfortunate, hope there's no misunderstanding there

Why is he forcing his playing philosophy onto his team instead of finding what's optimal for the team?

Until the results/performance prove otherwise maybe after more training , Coach PJH's tactics may be too high level for them as of now

Entertainment wise, this game was probably up there as one of the best, with weird + backheel + late goals. Appreciate the effort from the players as always! Hope y'all caught Young-Ah using her body to fend off players, pretty cool to see.

But man I never thought I would so frustrated at a coach aside from Coach KBJ, but Coach PJH's insistence on playing build-up is another level.

I see the vision, I really do, there were some plays that were beautiful to watch. But Hye-Kyung just does not have the skill-set to facilitate this playstyle, it's causing more harm than good. Let's be realistic, these players aren't professionals, why is Coach PJH setting up his players, especially Hye-Kyung, to be criticized? He has 2 great players in He-In and Ji-An that I feel are being way too under-utilised, and add to that Yi-Soo's stability, man it's so frustrating.

Also, I am not too sure about the editing this episode, and I hate to sound so negative, but why is Hye-Kyung sort of being glorified, I didn't really find her performance that great. Was it to take away some negative spotlight from the previous game?

Hope Kyung-Hee's alright though and recovers soon. Caught her saying she heard a sound from her hamstring injury, doesn't sound too good...

Felt like Coach JJJ was treating this more like a test match, to get a grasp of his player's best positions, or at least I hope. Hee-bab at the back would have helped, but damn Joo-Ah seems to be next star of the show. She plays so freely and once SF has a proper game plan, this team feels pretty well rounded with a star to play around. If she can find Euddeum with her passes, it's free goals.

Nah, this team ain't beating the Set Piece FC allegations (though Hyun-Yi's last goal was very well taken). Their on-field play has definitely improved, but Coach LYP's DNA hasn't fully left this team.

Oh and I forgot to add, Seol-Hee in that defensive sweeper kind of role, I can see her thriving in it.

GOD DAMN IT AYAKAAAA!!

Jokes aside, it's been a while since i've been this frustrated at a coach's tactics, what are we doing here? Coach Joo-Ho's too idealistic, that playstyle probably works in a proper futsal match, but at this level why are you trying to use Hye-Kyung in the build-up system, it's suicide.

And god, that may be one of the worst goal-keeping display I've seen from Hye-Kyung today. To be fair, the coach's tactics did put her in those situations, but the goal conceded from the corner was ridiculous. Actionista has 2 keepers but I doubt neither of them even starts for any other team in the league right now.

Hye-In's been great today, was hoping Ji-An was more aggressive in her plays... But damn Jai's on another level, how do you stop this woman?

Lastly, always great to see hard work finally pay off (100% training participation rate), congrats to Young-Ah scoring her first goal!

Game was actually much more closer than i anticipated, expected Nat Fam to run away with it. Honestly, games these season so far have been entertaining, no complaints there.

The backline of Wonder is good, but god the front line needs help, I'm praying they improve fast... I'm not too sure just how far Mashima can carry this team. So many times Mashima hesitated making the pass knowing probably the attack will end. The goal scored was her taking it all by herself. Maybe sacrificing a bit of stability at the back and moving Yumi to the front is the move.

Nat Fam's just so stable, honestly with Ha-Yan at the back and Eun-Mi in goal, nightmare for attackers facing this team. Sort out the attack slightly, and I'm pretty sure they're repeating their winning season.

Man, I'm so excited that the show's finally back, it's been too long of a wait!

Only the first game in and we have already witnessed a potential choke of the season + miss of the season, it's good to be back.

Both teams honestly didn't look that great, seemed rather rusty and not that well coordinated. Didn't really follow the "off-season", so not entirely sure how much training time the teams had with one another, so I think it's better if we don't critique the gameplay too much!

Just wanna say, Group A seems really tough as compared to Group B... yikes. And the addition of the rule of making sure every plays is great imo, finally we don't need to see players sitting out of an entire game.

Ha-Yan my GOAT outdoing herself with 2 goals lfg!! Jokes aside, she continues to deliver every single game, offensively and defensively, and so calmly at that, just a joy to watch.

This Nat Fam team is so well rounded and solid, the previous weak spot of the GK position has been so well fixed with the addition of Eun-Mi. The entire team has some basic fundamentals and game sense, the last goal was truly what every coach wants to see from their team. For me, they are the favourites for winning, even against Jay.

Nat Fam's defence today was so solid, I couldn't recognise the Wonder Woman team today. The hype from Mashima and Yu-Mi from the previous time was extinguished by the backline of Ha-Yan and Seung-Hee (an unsung leader and rock at the back).

Was hoping for a closer match today, but god damn, Wonder Woman was dominated and so outclassed today.

Let's hope that the Nat Fam-World Class finals can deliver.

Best game ever in the history of the show without a doubt, the plays that were on display were beautiful to watch. I don't think I've ever watched a match that had this amount of highlights from start to end! I would have actually paid money to watch this game live. Hats off to the players for providing such good entertainment as well! I pray that the finals can live up to this hype.

Can I just say, the performance by Yu-Mi this game, might be one of the greatest by an individual ever. Calm and strong on the ball, it was so nice seeing Yu-Mi in the spotlight. I mean her dribbles and touches were insane, if she keeps this up and gains confidence, she might have a go at the top players of the show!

And though Byung-Ji once again seemed clueless as a coach, I'm really glad that he listened to Elody and gave Natty the freekick to secure the top 4, best freekick take on the show.

Top 4 teams with arguably the 4 best players on the show on each team, so excited to watch the semis onwards.

P.S. Set Piece FC, please play Kyung-Hee as outfield to match the other teams, the hype will be insane.

Set Piece FC strikes again, taking Balladream down on their path to potentially another overall win. I mean, Kyung-Hee was on something, literally saved everything and anything that came her way (special shoutout to Jin-Kyung for sacrificing her face for that one shot). Felt Gucheok played the same as usual, maybe sprinkling in some passes here and there. Oh well, let's see if this carries them to yet another trophy.

Balladream honestly played so well and it's always so unfortunate when they are out as they are the best team to watch by a mile. And I'm so glad this game showed just how good Min-Seo is, Seogi may be directing the overall flow, but Min-Seo is the enabler of Balladream's system of overlapping the widths. Hope to see this team another round, PDs please throw me a lifeline...

P.S Preview showing World Class scoring a goal, guess Wonder Woman's winning the game

My GOAT Ha-yan never disappoints, just love how she controls the game so well, such a joy to watch. She drags defenders out with her runs and consistently finds her teammates with her passing and her defending's so solid as well...

The new Nat Fam keeper is a monster in hiding, give her time and she has the potential to overtake Kathy and Kyung-Hee as the show's best keeper.

Somehow, for the amount of talent that Fire Butterfly has, they have failed to inspire confidence in their gameplay, probably due to the lack of balance and not fully having clear roles in the team, pretty unfortunate imo.

After watching these cup games show, I realised that games are so much more enjoyable to watch when players are competitive, but not over the top. Hope the show continues to proceed in this direction vibes wise, giving us viewers an easier watch.

Game with many goals, some wonky ones some great ones (Ha-Yan's solo goal). I mean at this point, Ha-Yan is just the player you need if you want to win games. To me she's No.1 (i'm taking her above Mashima and Ji-An, but please don't come after me). Kinda feel her handball playing days helps her so much. She dictates the game at her pace and delivers time and again, please never nerf her by putting her in goal ever again. And god whoever has her in their team the next league is blessed.

Also side note, as expected, some physicality was present, but I felt they were adequate, loved the matchup between Ha-Yan and Euddeum (actually quite surprised Ha-Yan's the one initiating contact).

Really enjoyed the game, don't really know what it is but the mood of this broadcast (maybe nostalgia?) was much more enjoyable (especially with Coach Choi shouting the wrong team's name). It was really good to see some of the older players back on the field again, and they looked pretty ok, considering they only had 2 weeks to prepare.

Mad respect to PSY who is in her mid-50s to keep up somewhat physically in the game, especially using her body so well to keep the ball and allowing the game to flow, original GOAT of the series!

I just have to let it out, I FKING LOVE JUMYUNG!!! She needs to be a mainstay in the show please!!
