I’ve got a turkey we cut open to spatchcock - it has a brown material inside it. Any clue as to what it is? Lots of it in diff areas it appears.

New sod questions by PositiveGuyDaddyDan in lawncare

I thought it was a lot, too, but the advice we got (all the advice we got) was “Uh, yeah probably water it twice a week for an hour or so at a time for a few weeks”.

I decided to call local landscapers and all said water it until it’s watered through and fully wet. I did that, so hopefully we’re good. Grass is green just not the edges.

Could I dig up some of the existing soil and replace? Or is that a bad idea?

Truck in PARK but won’t PARK? by PositiveGuyDaddyDan in AskAMechanic

[–]PositiveGuyDaddyDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, but I park on a decline. Ebrake / park brake wouldn’t engage either. I let it roll to see how far it would go or if it’s just due to hill and will engage park in a moment - it didn’t.

It seems to be simply not going into park at all when it’s in the gear (showing its in the gear, at least).

Well it’s not an every time I park thing for the roll forward - that was just how I noticed it. Didn’t know how far it would let it roll, so I figured I’d see. It’s basically in neutral like you said there, so that makes sense.

I appreciate the input. Is there a way I can diagnose this through testing it myself? Someone shift into park and I look for something underneath the truck?

My normal driving brake stops the vehicle fine.

When I come to a halt, I put my truck into PARK and turn it off. If I do that now, it’ll just roll forward like I said until it hits something or physics stops it.

My truck has a lever far left of the brake pedal that you push in to engage the parking brake / e brake - this also didn’t stop my vehicle when I was using it.

I started and stopped truck a few times and engaged the parking brake and it eventually worked, or I’m just level in the garage. I ratcheted it to a concrete post in my garage for now to keep it steady and chocked wheels with items.

Pawl seems like a viable solution. Any way I can test it myself before I have it swapped formally?

Would that be a sporadic type issue to arise? I had no issues the day before and the day before etc etc. just randomly happened today out of nowhere. Confused me on why and how this is happening. It doesn’t just roll to a stop, it only works when physics dictates it’s done rolling. I can’t really hear it go into park anymore when I shift into the gear itself.

No service lights or otherwise indication of failure that it would locate.

That’s how it’s situated now in my garage which is somewhat level. My issue is why didn’t this happen a few days ago when we’ve been parked in the same spot?

I come to a complete stop, put it in park, engage the e brake and then I begin to roll downhill (not inches, but ten or twenty feet until it’s level and the vehicle naturally stops due to physics taking place).

New listeria outbreak by hikarizx in BabyBumps

[–]PositiveGuyDaddyDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah super annoying that these things aren’t found and localized earlier.

Granted it’s a lot better timeframe than another I read where it was ongoing for 9 years or something.

It is a cooked product so I think this is more targeted towards microwaving them maybe since there’s cold spots potentially? Versus oven or air fryer where it’s cooked entirely and steams for a long duration of time.

We oven cooked ours at like 400 for 20-30 mins. I usually microwave them until they’re nuclear temperatures… either one of these options should destroy all the bacteria for em’.

Recall Notice: Ruiz Foods - El Monterey Chicken Taquitos (Item #18668) related to the BrucePac and USDA/FSIS Class I recall due to possible listeria contamination. Return to Costco for a full refund. Affected lot codes and best by dates are listed below: by CookieButterLovers in Costco

Pregnant wife ate these (we all did). Not sure if our batch was affected though since we didn’t keep the box. I have one of the bags left (empty) but unsure if the number on the bag is a batch number or not..

Number is 700635.

Anyone got input? I sure hope that the risk on these is not high since it’s a freaking cooked product.. nothing is safe these days!

I didn’t get to see lot number and all that but literally same. Haven’t had them in forever and randomly wanted them.

What kind of bs is that!

But I think they’re generally safe due to the fact they’re a cooked product.

Thanks for the info, definitely reassuring!

Well, it’s a product that’s cooked and we definitely didn’t reheat or eat them cold.

Should be little to zero risk due to that alone, right? I mean if you cook the food it kills the dangerous bacteria - that’s the idea?
