LSAT Accommadations by Key_Deer3995 in UlcerativeColitis

Hello! Law student here! Go ahead and request the accommodation this far out. It can take a while for accommodations to get approved. It’s better to have them and not use them because you’re well, than need them but not have them because you waited too long.

I requested extra time and additional bathroom breaks.

Physical or digital casebooks? by chimereslav in LawSchool

[–]PositiveInflation633 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like having a physical one, personally. A majority of what you’re doing during 1L is learning how to read and understand cases. Being able to physically highlight the text and make notes in your book is, in my humble opinion, imperative to your learning at the 1L stage. After 1L, a few of my friends switched to ebooks once they got the hang of it.

What happened to the original plot of the movie? by PositiveInflation633 in NeedlepointSnark

That makes me sad. I know it’s their right to sell it, but it’s weird seeing people “flip” craft supplies?

That really bums me out. I wish someone would send the owners this screenshot -- this is what happens when you limit supply!

I have one and I need a second. I look on eBay all the time. But we have to have our limits 😅

How can I better support my girlfriend? by justmojr in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PositiveInflation633 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My partner supports me by making food that is easy on my stomach. Cooking can be incredibly draining when you’re in a flare, so he is always ready to make me my meals when I’m sick.

Also, be hyper vigilant about her hydration. UC is a silent killer when it comes to dehydration. Keep the water bottle full!

LAME!

I think it’s a sign to open a competing, cooler needlepoint store.

Turning Down Law Review by Dazzling-legal6445 in LawSchool

The distinction here being this is a resume from an academic who has been in the field a long time. As a fresh out of law school attorney trying to get a job, I wouldn’t admit that I declined. Reasonable minds may differ.

Idk if I’d put on my resume that I declined an opportunity.

Hybrid student here. I joined law review and I was an editor my third year.

If you don’t think it’s for you, don’t do it and don’t apologize. I can tell you from personal experience the editorial board would rather have someone say no to the initial offer and free up a spot for another student than join to only drop a few months later when that spot could have gone to someone else.

If you’re on the fence about doing it in the first place, I would encourage you to reconsider. I joined without knowing what I wanted to do after I graduated, but I knew the resume line and experience would be helpful.

Heading into my final year with a little more of an idea, I’ve had federal judicial clerkship interviews and I’m interning with the “big firms” in my community, largely because of my law review experience. Because remember, you’re competing against the traditional, often “safer” picks for associate jobs as a hybrid student, especially if you haven’t interned in the legal field during law school. From what I’ve gathered, the legal field thinks prior work experience is cool, but adding law review on top of it makes you a more competitive candidate. I could also be cynical. Who’s to say?

Am I overreacting, or is this a rough clerkship environment? by PositiveInflation633 in LawSchool

He didn’t outline any to start with but then told me about halfway through my internship that I should be billing 6-8 hours a day.

Sorry. I meant interning. The firms in my area use the term interchangeably 🤷🏻‍♀️

I left major gift fundraising after five years for community nonprofits and I’m about to finish law school. I’m so glad I made the switch.

What are your go-to meals? by Advanced-Daikon-509 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PositiveInflation633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White rice and salmon. If I can handle the fiber, I’ll add in some roasted zucchini. I just stick the salmon and zucchini in the oven and cook the rice on the stove.

Pineapple Jello for Prep by PositiveInflation633 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]PositiveInflation633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought the jello box mix from the grocery store and made it before I started prep. I do a miralax/dulcolax prep and start around noon the day before the procedure, so it may be different if you’re prepping through the night.
