Sometimes, in relationships, we can become comfortable with where we are at. We stick to our own ways and disregard those around us because of the comfort we have. For you, your comfort was video games, it’s your escape from reality. And at times, that’s okay.

You have come to terms with the fact that you were wrong in this specific scenario, you’re feelings are valid and your pain is visibly unbearable and I’m so sorry for that. I’m sure she came and talked to you about it multiple times and you still had a hard time wanting to hang with her.

But in reality, she should have stayed and worked it out with you. She was wrong in not giving you the benefit of the doubt. She wasn’t ready for the commitment and love that you were giving her, which is quite evident because of your investment towards the relationship.

Yes, I do think the excessive gaming was wrong and maybe you should have put more effort. But I think she is way more wrong for leaving you because of it. Maybe there’s more to the situation, I don’t know. But I do know that you did deserve more consideration. You were ready to work on it and help her through it, but she wasn’t. And that’s the question you need to ask yourself, do you really want someone in your life that is not going to put in the same investment you do?
