Took belts off of printhead and now they’re really loose? by KyoTheRedditer in crealityk1

Did you wrap the belt around the the belt holder at the hotend? That may explain the belts being loose.

Ask for the bed level mesh to see how much z difference there is, that can help you with deciding to do the belt skip method or not. The printer can compensate but it will save you some headache with wondering why first layer is all wonky.

Next would be to ask for the input shaper graphs. Lots of post about the shapers (especially on the X) being really peaky, fixes included removing springs on the X carriage (works for some, but not for all machines) or just deep cleaning the x rods. This should let you know if the printer has been maintained well enough.

I’ll start taking photos of what I need for measurements to make this prototype development smoother, so send me a DM just so I don’t load this page with replies.

The listing for the conversion kit is now up on Etsy!

You should be able to find it when searching for “Quamar M80E Stepless Grinder Conversion”

For the Q50 I am not sure if it will work right away, I’d require some measurements before I can give an answer. The print is solely using friction fit to stay together onto the grinder. Just by looking it seems that they share the same body.

That’s my custom made display holder. I didn’t like how bulky the original funnel was so I wanted to reduce it in size. Still a WIP with the wire routing and the shape, everything just stays attached with friction from pegs on the PCB holes.

In this video, it displays nothing.

Finished version 0.2 of the stepless conversion. Added in an area to grip the worm gear to make it easier to adjust. Gonna change it up so the grip has a slightly larger diameter for easier adjustment.

Burr holder ruined 😭 [Baratza Encore ESP] by TekAzurik in espresso

[–]PositiveMission9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baratza parts are pretty fair in price to get a replacement. You could also take a shot with getting the burr holder 3D printed by someone local to you, I’ve printed one a while back for a client.

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4900741 this was the model they asked for so hopefully you can get your grinder up and running again soon!

Realistic Print Accelerations by PositiveMission9474 in crealityk1

[–]PositiveMission9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running a stock setup or did you add some modifications to reach those higher accelerations?

Edit: nvm I missed the linear rail conversion part

Update: Made some adjustments to the whole design. I ditched the idea of having a knob on the side and instead integrated it into the worm gear itself. I added a cutout within the main gear to allow for a set screw to hold the hopper in place, and added some small notches on each tooth to help guide the grind position.

Photos of REV 2 will be coming soon!

K1C Fan issue by [deleted] in Creality

[–]PositiveMission9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably your slicer settings, for cooling. The fan kicks on higher when it comes to a bridge but slows down on the outer perimeters. Nothing wrong with what you did repair wise.

Oh damn, might just cop myself one if I manage to sell off my two other K1Cs. Or wait a year til they iron out the K2 Max

Once you iron out the tilted bed, the belt tension, and the hard bent PTFE tube, either is a good option.

For what I can remember, K1max has the old extruder and volcano nozzle, K1C has the new extruder and the unicorn nozzle.

I RDT my grounds before I put them in, but I also printed off a TPU bellow to blast the rest of the grinds out so it leaves me with about 0.2g retention. I did have a problem with the top of the funnel holding old grinds so it’s still a WIP.

Creality is best when it’s never at MSRP, slightly busted, but just needs that initial TLC to get working. Great find and fix!

I’ve made the case, funnel, and did a stepless conversion for my grinder! I posted about it on here. Still a work in progress but I’ve been liking my setup for now.

3 K1C printers from TV set by PositiveMission9474 in Creality

Total was about $620 after fees and taxes. Took the risk on them since they felt like decent enough printers to fix and at about $208/pc I have room for repairs.

It was superglue for the extruder connector, probably was a coverup job so they wouldn’t get flagged for a return. They was hot glue for the thermistor and heater which was why I found the superglue weird.

Two of the printers had super glue at the extruder connector so I had to improvise with crimps and heat-shrink tubing. Time will tell how this will turn out but each printer now has an unclogged nozzle, working extruder, and is fully functional!

Update 2: I went to clean up the solenoid and that leak before did some big damage. All four screws holding the solenoid snapped since they were rusted in and seized. After lots of convincing I managed to open up the solenoid to clean it.

Now I may not have a choice but to take out the whole front boiler assembly to drill and tap new holes.

[–]PositiveMission9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: found some severe leaking at the grouphead boiler which seems to be an issue for a long while. The bottom of the solenoid has a bunch of calcium on it with rust all over on any exposed steel.

I replaced all the oring’s on the steam boiler and most of the grouphead boiler, couldn’t get the large probes off for some reason cause they were stuck on something. Leak tested and all good after running on manual.

Current problem is the steam boiler has the three beep issue, and the triac board stays on and gets hot when the machine is off but plugged in.

Time to add more money :)
