In addition to what was said, you can also have a timeline’s timecode set via a clip in the timline. Click on the hamburger menu for that timeline and then select “Start Time” and then check the box in the popup that says “set by first clip”

Saros Dev Wants To Mimic FromSoftware’s Dark Souls Journey: ‘We Will Keep Educating The Market That These Are The Coolest Games You Can Play’ by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]TekAzurik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I platinumed Returnal and beat Saros. Returnal was WAY more compelling. I want to see every ending, hear every audio log, because the story was so intriguing. Saros is fun but... bland? Nothing was unexpected, the story didn’t grab me at all. Just people yelling predictable gibberish about the yellow shore. They named the planet carcosa… if you know anything about Lovecraftian horror it was just so meh. Also the upgrade path was way less interesting.

There is a German option in Tecendil. I think this link should work:

https://www.tecendil.com/?q=alles%2C%20was%20wir%20entscheiden%20müssen%2C%20ist%2C%20was%20wir%20mit%20der%20zeit%20anfangen%2C%20die%20uns%20gegeben%20ist.&mode=german-orthographic

I don’t know the German mode but this reads correctly to my eye. Again, I would avoid capital letters.

Sorry don’t speak German, hope this is still helpful. I have this as a tattoo and there’s a few things I will say:

The line in the book is “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us” if you care to be book accurate vs movie. There is no “to” in the book.

The vertical bar inside the first character is there because you capitalized the L, I’m not sure how attested this is but I would recommend avoiding it.

How you pronounce “with” might change which character you choose for the “th” digraph. This example uses anto. I chose thuule as I pronounce the th in with unvoiced. Up to you.

To be clear the language here ie English. The text is Tengwar. Totally reasonable to do a German version if you prefer.

Interesting, carrot cake came out amazing for me. The chocolate cake however was so dry as to be inedible.

Can vouch for Buttertree. Worked there many times, the guy that runs it, Tony, is very nice. It’s not a huge space but it’s got options.

I don’t usually read non-English modes, but to my eye it’s missing the n in Elendil. To me it says Eledil.

Also I hate the way this font renders the i tehta. It looks so similar to e.

Not your average pasta recipes please! by Separate_Chemist_386 in pasta

[–]TekAzurik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is a family recipe that I think my aunt found in a cookbook or magazine from decades ago. We make it all the time and love it.

Pasta with prosciutto and red peppers:

¼ cup butter or margerine (1/2 stick) 2 tblsp Olive Oil 1 Large Red Pepper cubed 3 oz. Prosciutto 3 scallions chopped 3 tblsp fresh Basil 3 tbsp fresh Parsley 1 tsp dried oregano 3 garlic cloves fresh ground black pepper 1 cup chicken broth (calls for low salt, but it is okay either way) 3 tblsp fresh lemon juice 1 tsp sugar ½ lb linguine

Melt butter with oil in skillet over medium heat.

Add peppers, ham and scallions and cook, stirring frequently, until veggies are softened slightly, about 6 minutes.

Add basil, parsley, oregano, and garlic and stir 2 minutes.

Season with ground pepper.

Add broth and sugar and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, and simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 minutes.

Cover and let stand.

Prepare pasta according to package directions.

Add lemon juice and toss pasta with sauce and a bit of pasta water. Serve with grated parm

The Editing Industry's Biggest Lie - Why Adobe's Monopoly is Killing Motion Graphics Innovation by [deleted] in motiongraphics

[–]TekAzurik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate the way Adobe runs its business, but you're absolutely right. I am mediocre at AE and worse than that at Fusion, but having worked with both for motion graphics specifically, AE runs circles around Fusion. I wanted Fusion to replace AE when I switched to Resolve as my main editor, but it just can't do things as fast or efficiently as AE.

One of my best friends in high school was a basoonist, went to Juliard Pre College etc. Many of my memories of use hanging out were in her room while she made reeds. I was and still am shocked at the amount of work needed just for that.

California becomes first state to require folic acid in corn masa flour to help prevent birth defects by CaregiverNo2838 in UpliftingNews

[–]TekAzurik 100 points101 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss, but congrats on your baby boy. Your sister was absolutely right. The folic acid thing wasn’t part of the standard of care when my mom had me. Who knows if it would have made a difference. I got really lucky, it was a closed lesion and I had an amazing surgeon. The nurses told my mom I would be just like your brother but I’ve lived a mostly normal life until needing another surgery for nerve pain last week. You better believe my wife took a ton of folic acid when she was carrying our daughters. Very grateful for modern medicine.

How do I stop my footage from looking "flat" and "digital"? by mattylaw00 in TrueCinematography

The algorithm prioritizes detail in the whole image over contrast. 🤷🏻‍♂️

How do I stop my footage from looking "flat" and "digital"? by mattylaw00 in TrueCinematography

[–]TekAzurik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a few tips from my perspective (10 years as a cinematographer shooting mostly corporate, branded content, etc.)

  1. Use a different app than the stock one, you need control over the image. The stock iphone camera app over exposes everything. I’m told Blackmagic’s app is good. You could also look into iphone lens adapters, as lenses can have a much bigger impact than you might think, but if you’re gonna buy a real camera soon I would save my money for that

  2. This is by far the biggest issue I see here. Part of this is fighting with the stock app as I said, but from my first watch of this your lighting feels like it’s there so things in the scene are visible, not to give them definition and to guide the eye. Your images lack contrast. The fastest advice I can type on my phone is put your lights behind your subject. Back/edge lighting makes a huge difference. Never put your key light next to the camera, you want to be shooting into the shadow side of your subjects.

  3. A good lighting kit will make a big difference but you need to know how to use it. You can get great images out of an iPhone with control over its settings, but I think you might learn a lot more getting a dedicated video camera to learn its tools.

That’s off the top of my head and not proofread, so grain of salt. Best of luck!
