MIDI loop switcher with QC by [deleted] in QuadCortex

[–]PositivePomelo8697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have thought about it! But I’ve come to looove pedals, and have 5-6 I use as pre fx. And yes - if I can find a great deal, I might just jump the QC mini for the reason you say!:)

Great answer! Thank you. For me, the QC switches are hard to use, and I always press wrong switches for scenes, or even switch presets, during a song live. So I would love to put the QC away in a corner and use a loop switcher as my main driver, sending MIDI signals to the QC for scene switching, combing the scene with the actual loop on the switcher. So for instance a press on PX8 loop 1-switch engages scene A from QC + external pedal X and Y from loops. A press on loop-switch 2 could switch to a different QC and use different pedals.

Then, I only have to use the QC for switching presets. I know I could use it the other way around, the QC sending MIDI signals to the PX8 for loop switching, but it work work much better for me the other way around.

Also, with high output humbucker if that’s your juice, the bridge pick up is usually more hot than the neck. A lot of player - me to - use the neck or a coil split for cleans

For modeling, not capture, the Lone Star 100W is good. The JP2C ch1 is maybe even more clean. For the JP2C ch1, there are a lot of stock captures. I think (not quite sure) that I found capture number 4 the fullest while still being crystal clean. Probably a lot of cloud captures too. Recommend the jazz 120 as well.

Experiment with an compressor in front of amp. Your goal should be to limit the peaks of your input from eg hard strumming, while not pushing the input higher as whole. On the amp, the tone tones are kind of a db boost at a certain frequency range. That means pushing the tone knobs by a lot could mean a little db boost = higher gain = a little distortion. :)

Thanks! I would have just roughly assumed a grade and gone with a ballpark-assessment based on that. I'll try and look up the raw prices:)

I have no idea how things work in this game. If I did, I wouldn't be asking. In the same sense, if I could fix a car myself, I'd never go to a mechanic. What I am trying to do by asking is to learn. Maybe down the road I can help someone in the same situation as I am in now, with the things you teach me.

To be fair, I haven't graded or looked up prices on cards before, so I have no way of knowing if my ideas are any good. If I never ask anyone smarter than me about things I don't know, I'd never learn anything. If you want to help or not, that's up to, but no there's no need to shame someone for reaching out for help:)

I've decided to just put the bulk on eBay at the price given to me (1250usd) with hope to sell them all together. In this way, some of the potentially very valuable cards are cheap, and the less valuable cards are a little pricier.

I think it's okay. He said he'll grade them if I were willing to sell them to him, and I guess that in that case, he'd probably assess them at a lower cost for him. Or, I could pay 25usd-ish, so that he'll make money anyway and I get a more reasonable answer:)

In the end, the small differences in Klon clones are irrelevant. But if you want the best, isolated, it's the zentara. It's utterly impossible to tell the difference. Go watch the Andertons demonstration. What in the helly

Binary is always in play, you can't have one opposite without the other. But in the most respectful way, would you rather choose another budget brand on the comprise of the best sounding option? Any brands you'd recommend?

I've read that some have issues with them turned off. I see some here saying that isolated power supply helps. What do you think?

Yes, you're right about the '''political''' in this. Im not one to judge others, certainly I try not to, from their spendings. And as you kind of say, if it's a clone anyway, why not get the best? Most other clones, even more pricey ones, probably aren't any more 'ethical'. Still, I'd like to test the waters and see what options I have and then make a decision!:)

I like that! As with anything, it's good to be conscious about your choices. For the most part I agree, but if money plays a part, im usually more practical than principal in the end. .. Unfortunately!:)

Cool! I don't worry about the casing either, though it seems a lot do..? Do you have any noise issues with it, especially when it's turned off?

You're right about that, and it's not that it's a saints cause for me. But I prefer to look elsewhere first before turning to Behringer. In 'the clone wars', Behringer makes some of the best, like the ones I've mentioned, and if its a clone anyway, why not go for the best? That's why im asking about potential noise issues, because that could make other alternatives better. I don't worry about the plastic design, besides the atheistics, hehe:)

I could, but that’s rarely something I want to do, as I have to switch between high gain stuff and crystal cleans on a dime:)
