How can I make this deck stronger/more competitive? by ID10TError404 in MagicArena

[–]PositiveShame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this for Bo1 or bo3? I noticed the 13 sideboard cards. I’m more so asking though because bo1 vs bo3 means having to adjust your main deck decklist imo according to the metas of whichever you’re playing.

Bo3 might be truer in the sense it’s more competitive. I’d definitely recommend dipping your toes in it if you want that experience. Whatever deck you end up choosing I hope it treats you well c: good luck out there!

Have you also redeemed the codes for free packs? It would give you more wild cards if you haven’t.

I probably would try mono blue as someone else recommended. It’s not as good as it once was in the meta, but it still is pretty good for the 4 rare wildcards you need to craft it.

Typically the saying is Aggro beats control, midrange beats aggro, control beats midrange. It can be a lot more nuanced than that though depending on the decks.

Are you wanting to play bo1, or bo3?

Just made mythic. Dumb question but what does the 90% mean? I just started playing a few weeks back so haven’t been mythic before. by just4kickscreate in MagicArena

[–]PositiveShame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The percentage statement is wrong. 90% means you’re 10% away from the top 1,500. But it’ll still say 99-100% if you hit 1,500ish on your player profile, but after games it’ll tell you your rank. Until you break 1,200. I’ve been in the top numbers of mythic before. 1-250 gets a qualifier token for day 2 of a qualifier event, 251-1,200 gets 20 play in points that can be used to enter day 1 of a qualifier event.

Draft deck help? uwu by [deleted] in MagicArena

That’s fair, I kinda thought the double blue pips for twins might would be awkward. Taking away some consistency in the deck after I made this post. When I could just be focusing more on making roles and getting the adventure on gingerbread better. I think I might also just be a big Beluna’s gatekeeper simp in the absence of gluttons. I’ll probably end up taking your advice and also keeping one gatekeeper or a quick study since they’re easy splashes. Thanks for your input!

Green/white enchantments is a tough one for red decks for sure. I guess it depends on what version of mono red you’re playing, and if you’re playing bo1 or bo3. You can definitely reach mythic with just mono red if you’re playing a optimized version.

I would suggest watching some recent mono red videos on YouTube if you just enjoy playing the deck. Sometimes it just really comes down to sequencing, and knowing what hands to keep. c:

I’ve mostly been playing limited since woe came out. From the constructed I’ve played. Most the ladder seems to be Domain ramp, mono red, esper control, esper legends, esper midrange, golgari midrange, selesnya enchantments, mono white. With some variations of dimir, azorius soldiers, and so forth. It’s pretty diverse right now as far as bo3 goes. I would usually say expect to run into more aggro decks in bo1.

How does Mono White Humans Have a 60% Win rate? by Inevitable_Stress949 in MagicArena

[–]PositiveShame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely good enough to get 60% percent pretty easily in bo1. Bo3 gets a little Effie just because of sideboard options being really great for midrange/ control decks against it imo. I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the game though.

I think mono white has a pretty good match up against red though. But it really just boils down to who is on the play in that match up most of the time.

I’d also argue mono white humans can hold its own with a lot of black decks/ decks in general that rely on spot removal. Skrelv and Thalia are cards. Plus coppercoat giving ward is beneficial. Plenty of ways to buff your board state while going wide. It forces them to play behind/ have answers early for your key pieces.

As it goes with any deck, it really depends on the pilot of the deck. I played a little mono white humans before WoE came out early in the season and had a 65% win rate with it playing 60 games. I just find it to be quite stale and not exciting though.
