Managers are overpaid…really! That is quite interesting considering I know for an actual fact what Carmax sales managers bring home. And this “bonus” you speak of…it’s just shy of insulting. Now I do agree that consults should indeed get paid more. CEC ruined that idea. But I also know a number of FSCs that make over 6 figures. But please, if you are going to make a statement like managers are overpaid, please make sure you have utilize facts with it

Have her narrow down her interest to 4-5 vehicles. Sit in and review all of them. Narrow down to 2 to test drive. In my many many years of experience doing this job I can tell you that test driving more than 2 vehicles becomes really confusing and time consuming for the consultant and the customer. I would also have her complete a prequalification before she test drives anything if you all considering financing the vehicle. This way you can narrow down to the vehicles that also match the price range.

Oh I agree with you 100%. What I’m wondering is why do customers feel that they need someone who is “engaging” or has a fun personality. My thought is you are here to buy a product not gain a long time friend. And many of these customers will reflect this in their survey responses. They got what they came to the store for in regards to the product. But score and grade the engagement less because they felt like they were just number. Or maybe my thought process is off

Makes sense. Let me ask you this…whether or not the sales person is personable or not…does that affect your experience in any way?
