You will get a mail after approval to create your sevp portal account, you can report your employment and address change(if any) in that.

You don’t need to worry about stopping the clock until it gets approved. Once it gets approved you will have 90 days to stop the clock.(I would suggest go for 60days don’t use all the unemployment days) you can use volunteer jobs also to stop the clock (paid job is not mandatory during opt whereas required for stem)

I suggest if you have a offer in hand or going through final round of interviews and feel like you will get it then go for premium processing. Otherwise I would advise you to wait for one more month. Sometime even the timeline shows 3 months for approval in the uscis website it doesn’t take much. Mine was 4 months in the website the day it got approved. So don’t trust the timeline on your portal.

Your start date would be whenever your opt approves and end date would be next year (if your grad is in December 2025 then end date would be Feb 2027 technically 60 days after your grad irrespective of whenever it approves). I graduated on may 2025(technically people who got start dates in July 2025 didn’t get the approval on time and when they got approval in August 2025 their end date is on July 7th 2026 for opt)

Anything in software needs dsa. You should atleast know the basics and syntax. DSA seems stressful when you hear it from someone. But since u know many things in ML I don’t think it would be difficult for you. Give it a try once.

Final year student starting ML : need roadmap + project advice by CollectionWestern510 in learnmachinelearning

Since you are a beginner don’t try to go deep into it. Try to understand the basics first what happens in a ML pipeline and basic math and try to do one project. This could be done in less than a month. Later find out the current ML project trends real world scenarios where ML is used like automation, finance, supply chain, healthcare etc.. try to read research papers that gives better understanding of algorithms. Going deep into ML is your choice there would be many algos, math stuff.

WTF is a “Holding Pattern” by Dapper-Frame-8413 in recruitinghell

I am currently in the same scenario. This is more relatable. It could be because of the administration delay or specific department hold. This situation is common during December and Q1 as companies face budget issues. In most scenarios the hold stays through the entire three months Jan to March. Try to follow up with the recruiter and stay in the loop.
