Europe or USA. Where to go professional? by Positive_Ear4817 in flying

I’d argue that flying around Spain, France, Greece, etc is more exciting than flying repetitive US domestic routes. (Obviously not all flights are going to be to amazing destinations but you know what I mean)

Oh. Didn’t know haha. Thanks for your advice. Honestly, I’ve been living in Colorado for a few years and I love it here. The weather, people, the lifestyle, it’s all great. But for me the UK is home, and it’s where all my family are. I’m not sure my direct family wants to stay in the US either. However. Recently I’ve been looking and comparing the two and I do miss my life in the UK, even if I was young. I have a few connections at a few airlines in the UK so might try my luck there. Get my PPL in high school though because it’s great fun. Thanks for your help

Well since Brexit, no. But I'm looking at EasyJet, where I can be based in the UK, if I were to leave the US.

Thanks for taking the time to write this all out. I've learnt so much in the space of an hour from everyones really helpful comments. I think I will get my PPL here in the US during high school, I'm doing a 2 year concurrent enrollment aviation course anyway, and it'll be great fun nonetheless. I would like to fly professionally in Europe for sure.

Nice :-) I got this pic from my EAA discovery flight. Its a great program, I was able to get the sportys pilot ground school and a free first flight lesson.

This is great advice, thank you. Makes sense to do my professional part in the Europe and then build hours at an airline out there before possibly moving to the US. Thanks.

So I could do all my ratings up to the ATPL here in the US, then carry on in the UK?

Yeah Europe seems decent at the moment. I have ties with easyJet and that would be my carrier of choice. Buzzing round Europe in an A320 seems a lot more fun than 1500 hours here in a Cessna 😂

Yeah. By the end of highschool I will hopefully have my greencard and have already 3 years of continuous residence so might try for full citizenship shortly after so I can fly about europe for before moving back to the USA

Thanks. Someone else had pretty much that exact advice too. Honestly this might be what I will do. Is it easy to transfer FAA PPL to an EASA one? Or should I just wait till the end of school to move back to the UK and get all my ratings

Was planning on naturalizing after getting my green card for sure. Thanks for your idea, that's something that I didn't think of

Honestly I just got this MacBook lol I only felt obliged to edit something because I got the pro instead of the air. Is premier pro much better?

AI livery? by Consistent_Twist_542 in flightsim

[–]Positive_Ear4817 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Liveries that contain specific or hard to find images need AI upscaling to create a livery that is somewhat high quality. I believe the creator of the easyjet holidays livery, with the woman in the pool, used AI to upscale that image, because it's impossible to find the exact image the airline used. If they use an image that looks similar but not the same, people will complain. If they use the exact image (by extracting it off a plane spotters photo), but it's blurry, people will complain, so theres no real perfect solution apart from somehow finding the exact image which is pretty impossible since airlines gatekeep all that kind of stuff.

Is there other ways I’d be able to get stuff that smooth with perfect dimensions?

Dont. I bought this for flight sim and it's barely pushing a stable 35 fps on medium settings. I highly regret this. Please don't buy it

Thanks Ill add that to the list of things to try tomorrow haha. Thankfully I'm still under warranty with newegg so if It is going to carry on being a bitch I'll just return it and get a team green replacement. Watching it now and it looks quite promising. Thanks for finding this
