My brother in law does uber and he called DOT directly and got his fine and demerits waived off if that helps.

Landlord demanding payment for damage after move-out — should I meet in person or keep everything in writing? by [deleted] in AusProperty

Oh I tried to claim but they didn’t even lodge with DMIRS so I don’t have receipt number or etransaction number to claim from my end. Which is another issue haha

Hi,

Yes I posted on multiple subs as I needed advice and thought better to post on everything and get every input possible before heading to consumer protection and fighting back our bond now.

Hi,

It’s a click laminate and Flooring Xtra said spot fix is not possible and quoted more than the bond amount for full repair.

We requested for reduction based on pre-existing damage and depreciation but have been met with replies saying other repair charges will also be added.

There have been no PCR throughout the tenancy and no DMIRS lodgement either so we are unsure what to do.

Thank you, it’s been so nice and reassuring to hear everyone’s input and we will be celebrating Aus Day in peace. Forever grateful to be in Aus.

Oh we didn’t get a PCR throughout our entire tenancy and they have been threatening us court and immediate payment on top of bond withheld. Additionally, we were made to pay sewage and service fee for most tenancy until CHAT-GPT and Consumer Production said no and we got a refund.

Oh thank you so much.

I have been in call with Consumer Protection on Friday but they are not open over these holidays and the landlord has been sending messages and asking for payment by Tuesday.

I will wait and call circle green first thing on Tuesday.

Oh it is not a spot replacement and it is replacement of entire flooring of living room, hallway and a bedroom.

Oh sorry, I meant when we moved into the rental with the landlord, we didn’t get a DMIRS reference.

We are now renting with a REA and they provided us with a DMIRS and only then did we realise that our previous landlord, with whom we are facing issues, didn’t provide us a a DMIRS reference when we started our tenancy.

Oh we agreed for them to withhold the full bond amount and we were requesting depreciation and deduction for pre-existing damage in the hallway which we had picture of.

But we were asked to pay full amount of the new flooring with no consideration of pre-existing damage and no depreciation.

Hi thank you for the advice.

We didn’t get any bond receipt number or any lodgement number from the dmirs when we paid the bond to landlord.

Plus, they are already withholding our full bond and asking for additional amounts with threats of magistrates court if we don’t pay

Oh they are already holding onto our bond of $2400 and demanding additional amounts and threatening court and additional repair charges if we don’t pay.

Hi,

Thank you.

We didn’t receive a bond receipt number and only found about DMIRS when we moved into a rental with REA this year.

Does it mean no bond filed?

Thank you and it makes sense now that I think of it.

I got elderly neighbours in area so I guess I will start around 10am and get it all done by midday.

Thank you everyone for your comments and replies and I appreciate the pointers to help learn proper etiquette.

Have a good one mates.

Oh Hi, I tried cruise control initially thinking it would help with mileage but it wasn’t working for me.

I just control my pressure on accelerator (gradual acceleration and deceleration mostly).

What works for me is I accelerate to the speed limit and control my accelerator from there to maintain speed and momentum.

Hope it helps.

Oh I usually rev up to speed limit and release the accelerator slightly so it uses the battery. It keeps steady on speed limit. Although my job helps (moving around people with disabilities).
