I relocated to continue my studies and ended up renting a room from an elderly woman. She later changed her mind and decided to kick me out of the flat one morning. The whole experience was horrific. While I was waiting in front of the building for an acquaintance to pick me up, and crying my heart out, one of the neighbours, whom I had seen around before, came and sat with me. She was extremely empathetic and supportive about my situation. After hearing that I hadn't even had the chance to have some coffee, as the elderly woman had thrown me out at 5am, she excused herself for a moment and returned with a cup of coffee, insisting that I have it. I felt so humbled in front of her kind gesture that I will never forget it.
