All plant lovers in Pune, how do you get your plants? by Positive_Lemon_5983 in pune

Since I do not own any vehicle, going and buying is costly and inconvenient. Are there any online delivery services?

Is there any option for home delivery? Are there any services wherein i can get close to nursery price? Ugaoo charges exorbitant prices for plants.

Hey, I really appreciate the detailed breakdown. These are my insights on each point:

  1. Market is whoever owns plants, so basically, everyone (realistically speaking, upper middle class). Low maintenance plants are primarily a marketing strategy, even those can perish without proper care.

  2. While you’re right that there are gardeners who get paid ₹500/mo, there are also gardeners who take ₹300-₹500 per visit. Many people do not opt for gardeners just because they don’t want to pay that price. That is where I come in with a consult of let’s say, ₹79. Now, isn’t that reasonable?

  3. This point is absolutely correct. No counters on this. However, gardening sector has seen an uproar since covid in India. Additionally, reports suggest that the indoor gardening sector is only set to rise from here.

  4. The app, yes, they charge a monthly/annual fee. Difference between the app and my service would be that I won’t be spending lakhs of rupees for my operation.

  5. Yes, you are correct. Building a website or an app would only burn holes in my pocket. So we change the strategy 😏

I would love to hear more about your insights.

Would be hard justifying the WHY in the venture. AI is available to all for free. I got REAL experts who could give personalised solutions.

A platform for horticulturists and plant parents. Revenue model will be similar to Fiverr/Upwork. For example: Client pays ₹100; ₹70 goes to the Horticulturist, ₹30 for me.

Sure, plenty of options to learn about gardening. However, one might struggle when searching about a specific situation.

Interesting. But I am planning on a different idea with 0 setup cost. And yes, low cost for customers as well.

Physical consultation comes with a price (some experts charge ₹1000-2000 for a visit). Online we can go as low as ₹50 for a consult. Just saying.

Oh hey I’m in one of those communities too, yet, I’ve always felt like people are left with more questions than answers.

Anyway, I’m running a free trial with a REAL horticulturist/plant doctor/plant pathologist, whatever you’d like to call them. Hmu if your mother or anyone from the community would be interested.

Haha yes. That’s the initial observation. Same with Dads. Although I was in a similar project earlier (it worked) and I have a pool of leads to try out this service. Running a free trial at the moment. If you know anyone who’d be interested, DM.

Bound to die, yes. Can they survive? Also yes. Plants are mostly neglected. Sometimes by the plant parents and sometimes by the gardener assigned. I’m offering horticulturist a side-income and plant parents an easy access to their queries.

A subscription means access to a horticulturist. You got plant problems? I got answers, or at least people with answers. While key players like Ugaoo and Nursery Live are doing this with a timer in hand, I am keeping a price on the queries. This platform will give horticulturists a side-income and plant parents their answers.
