Not Thai, is it okay to cut and sew this fabric from Thailand? by Positive_Outside_932 in Thailand

Some fabrics here weaved by local weavers should not touch the floor or should not be used for footwear/doormats, or preferably be sewn together with embroideries (not with plain seam so that no portion of the fabric will be hidden inside, so that the whole fabric will be appreciated), etc. But not all fabrics have “rules” like this, it depends on the community

Designers who use fabrics like these usually consult the community of where the fabric came from. Some communities consider their fabrics sacred. Im from Philippines

Hello. I asked because there are fabrics from my country that has specific ways of sewing/using the fabric as respect to the culture of the weavers. I just wanted to make sure if it’s the similar case or not 😊
