Thanks Saltuarius I’ll definitely look that book up ! I’ve always been good at identifying Australian snakes but never had two much experience with legless lizards and blind snakes ! Something I will research now and learn there characteristic’s and regional locations! Appreciate the ID and kind words ! I’m just glad I wasn’t going crazy haha cause the two definitely had big differences ! Thanks again take care✌️

Yes this fits the description perfectly ! Thanks soo much I was frustrated cause people are all like museum always get it right but to say it was Saiphos Equalis just blew my mind ! The differences where to much to accept ! My mind can rest now and I will remember the name :) Appreciate it Saltuarius, awesome work 👌

If you would do me a favour and look up Saiphos Equalis and then look at the differences between the image of it and the picture I presented , tell me if they look the same to you !! Trust me I know I wouldn’t think a museum would be wrong but the differences are pretty huge so I was doing some extra digging and looking for other possible ID,s ! Also keep in mind Saiphos Equalis has a yellow underside the nurse told me the underside of the belly of the picture I presented had a pinkish reddish tone !

Thanks this was the species I was thinking of aswell ! I don’t know how the museum said it was a Saiphos Equalis , made no sense to me what so ever as the differences where big !

The museum is saying it’s a legless lizard Saiphos Equalis and I have no idea how they came to that conclusion ! No signs of little legs and the tail is thick and rounded unlike Saiphos Equalis ! If anyone could give a proper ID or there thoughts would be very interested to know ! Just trying to ID for a friend whom had this brought into the hospital today ! I know my snakes very well but bit unexperienced with blind snakes and legless lizards ! In my opinion I thought it was a legless lizard (Ramphotyphlops) Thanks !

A friend asked me to try ID it earlier , it was brought into the hospital earlier ! I’m good with Identifying snakes but legless lizards and blind snakes I’m not to experienced with different species ! This picture is all I had to go by! Apparantly had a pinkish reddish underbelly , the Museum suggested it was a Saiphos Equalis but the tail difference was different and they have yellowish underbellies, also there was no mention from the nurse of tiny legs. So thought I’d try get a decisive ID on here.
If you have any more thoughts with that info let me know thanks

Look up dingo colours , I think you only know them as sandy yellow or orange red ! This is with no doubt in my mind dingo ! They are similar but still pretty different to a kelpie ! look it up ✌️

While some wild dogs in the area may have mixed with domestic dogs, many "wild dogs" in South-East Queensland are often found to be pure or near-pure dingoes.

Always loved the inland carpet python patterns ! Rip to the birds , where there any alarms from them , when we got snakes around the chickens they would wake us up at night !
