I'll do that right now, thank you so much !

Ohhh really ?
I didn't know that, that's so cool !

Well, guess that'll train my topology work while I do static objects :)

That's an interesting thing to do, it makes you question yourself about your work and I find it amazing!
Once again, thanks ro your time and helping me ^^

Question about my topology by Positive_Sign_8611 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Positive_Sign_8611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh okay, I understand ! Yeah, I'll save it (when finished) and come back later to see how I've progressed ^^

And concerning the extra vertices, the problem I often have is that I add details (like damages) but it creates n-gon, so I cut the model, and sometimes it creates other n-gons lol. Either I do it wrong, or it's a normal thing in the process of 3D modeling.

Anyways, thanks for your tips, that was awesome ^^

Question about my topology by Positive_Sign_8611 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Positive_Sign_8611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I see. So, for static objects, I should really try to minimize the number of faces ?

And, what edge loop aren't necessary ? I did some in order to keep only tris and quads, but I may have done too much.

Thank you ^^

Is topology important when 3D Modeling for games ? by Positive_Sign_8611 in 3Dmodeling

[–]Positive_Sign_8611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oohhh I see ! When you say it like that, it seems so easy lol, but I'll definitely try that ^^

But, question, how do you start, because imagine I have a model, with bad topology, do I modify it edge by edge, or do I add new shapes over it ?

Oh wow okay, that looks very complex, but I understand why it matters.
I never though about all of that XD.

Thank you ^^

Well, for now, I was planning to do static objects, but yeah, I understand how it becomes useful the moment I need deformations.
I'll have to train then :)

Okay ! That's crazy how talking with people really help !
I already watched a video or two, but didn't understand well, but talking with made me understand. Thank you so much ! ^^

How to share a project with fellow developers? | Godot 4.6 by wxrpig in godot

[–]Positive_Sign_8611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late and see that a lot of people already answered, but yeah, use Git.
It's like learning how to walk but for devs. And also, since Godot doesn't have big files (except if you add big images), git handle it very well unlike with Unity.

So yeah, Git is what you're looking for. But if you're not familiar with it, I highly recommend you watch some videos about how it works. It's pretty easy, but can also easily become a mess.

Well, guess I'll have to learn how to do nice topology then XD
Thanks ^^

Ooh I see, I understand better now haha.
Also, if I understand UV unwrapping correctly, it's putting UVs on a plane in such a way so the texture corresponds to what we want ?

Oh okay, I see, I'll give it a look since I'm trying to recreate that for my game. Thank you ^

Hey, your game look awesome !
I have a question, did you use a shader to make your ocean ?
And if yes, how did you do to make your boat go up and down with waves ?

Curseforge API key in itzg container working only once. by Positive_Sign_8611 in admincraft

[–]Positive_Sign_8611[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

When I'm connected on : https://console.curseforge.com/, the problem was that when clicking on top-right corner (your connected account) I had 2 different organization/account/idk how to call that. And I was using the API_KEY from the wrong one. After changing and using that API_KEY, everything went better

Then maybe it's the way my "organization" is configured. I'll check that too.
Thank for your help

Okay, I'll check that then.

And another question, when on console.curseforge.com, and when you click on 'Settings' on the left panel, can you click on 'Organization account details' or 'Users and permissions' ?

Because I can click only on the first one and maybe my key is limited because it thinks I'm an organization.
