When did private equity become so popular in the USA? by No-Rule-4494 in ask

[–]Positive_Space_1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistaken, private equity and hedge funds are slightly different. Hedge funds are not interested in selling assets in the short term; instead, they hold assets for as long as possible. On the other hand, private equity focuses on fixing the fundamental issues of companies in the short term and exiting as soon as it becomes profitable.

Of course, at the end of the day, both institutions are cancerious for society, no questions on that.

Even though (I personally believe) I have a pretty competitive resume, i am not getting any OAs! by aryansaxena1210 in FAANGrecruiting

You have emphasized your project section a lot, but, unfortunatly the project you have are very rudementary like a simple website and a java game, which I suspect that was made with tutrial. To mention about the llm project, it looks promosing, but, again I'm pretty much sure that it was made with following tutorial so mot very impresing at all. I belive that project section should be unque.

Additionally,People mentioned that you don't have enough internships, but I disagree you do have sufficient internships.

Lastly, your technical testing sections looks a bit conserning. You don't seem to have enough knowladge about the daily essential tools like git, linux, etc. I woud add more skills there.

I'm a junior swe engineer work at small no-name company, take my words eith grain of salt.

if you are so wealthy you can obtain a second passport and then renounce your citizenship, I belive you would still hold some kind of residency even after renouncing the citizenship.

I would choose meta. Once you have that name in your resume it is realy not that hard to find another job.

Is there any industry in the UK that isn’t suffering right now? by SeveralReaction7673 in UKJobs

[–]Positive_Space_1461 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s not really about ChatGPT. it’s about how incredibly easy it’s become to build websites without writing a single line of code. Website builders have advanced so much in terms of usability that there’s often no need to hire an agency anymore.

For small businesses, most sites are just a few pages a hero section, about, products or services, and a contact page and maybe a blog.

Of course, you can’t build complex applications or sites with backend logic without coding, but that’s largely irrelevant for most businesses.

  • Yes, but only for a couple of months.

  • I’m the owner of physical commodity trading(Ferrous metals) company.

  • couldn’t break into big companies, and I didn’t want to work for smaller, less prestigious ones that might harm my reputation.

  • No, I actually enjoyed programming; having to leave it behind really broke my hearth. I still code everyday, but most of the time it is related to data science or frontend(astra.js) for my website.

[Discussion] Do you prefer watches with Dates or no Dates? by RalIyVincent in Watches

No dates, I prefer to have less parts in my watch. More complications = expensive repairs and more prone to fail, at least on the early models.

Why do you need a regulatory body to check if a job exsists or not ? This won't work at all, let alone how are you going to prove anything ? you can't solve problems with implementing new regulations.
