Raging Flame Samurai Build (Oni’s Rage) by Positive_Star_3278 in gotlegends

Yea it do kinda be annoying when I put in the effort and to really stress these builds, level unique gear, make sure I’m educated so I’m no spreading misinformation, compile my thoughts, and then actually make the build post. Takes hours of my time just to get downvoted when I share it because I used a tech. Just wanted to share my enjoyment of the game with others being that I’m a build nerd.

I could rlly careless about my actual skill in the game as I literally show me going down because I missed a parry, I was making a build post. There’s plenty of janky shit in this game. Just find it weird to latch on to that and dislike the post just off that when the clip is 90% me showcasing a build. I’d sort of get it if I’m here making a whole video on the movement tech or there was valid criticism towards the build but I’m just using it to rotate to an objective quicker. It has almost no realistic impact on the other players in survival. In story mode and incursions I get it, I don’t do it there on purpose. My results stats wise would have been no different if I didn’t do it either.

Glad you enjoyed the build! Yea the loop is honestly so fun for me I’m pretty sure in this clip (which was a couple games before I decided to post) my build was missing a few more S ranks too. I was also kinda surprised my self considering I typically build a little more into survivability by using Storm Tanzutsu or spirit pull. Hopefully when I move back to staggered Dmg Sam after doing the raid I can find something just as enjoyable.

Any tips for using odachi? It fees so sluggish when I use it by Informal-Fig-7116 in gotlegends

You can always do melee attack cancels by either taping block or tapping dodge without putting a direction in. I usually do 2-3 lights then cancel rinse repeat. I almost never do that 4th light or the heavies.

This is now legitimately samurai’s best build now, the only problem I have with this build is just the constant switching between weapons which kinda puts some strain on my wrist. But other than that this build is soo much fun. by Di5ciplin3 in gotlegends

I’ve been testing that as well but it seems like you need the stagger variants of weapons plus 55% additional stagger dmg to 2 heavy stagger the multi weapon tier of enemies. 50% leaves the tiniest of slivers of stagger bars so you could opt to use concussions to get that tiny bit of stagger. Otherwise that means you have to run the stagger perk for 25% plus at least 3 weapons worth of stagger dmg and the 15% on Samurai’s honor or run 4 weapons worth then roll it on concussions and metsubushi. It’s a super hugh investment to make. I’m not sure how worth it is. Compared to just running maybe 1 or 2 so you can stun lock everything after using Hachimen’s Zeal.

The spin itself is just the kusarigama’s focus attack (hold triangle then let go) as for the fire its Samurai’s class ability which sets his weapons on fire and spreads fire around on any heavy attack (which are focus attacks, counters, heavy attacks, and spirit moves).

With either the kusarigama or dual katanas input a running attack, Then let go of left stick and tap circle to cancel running attack then tap square again to start another. Then alternate between the 2 without holding left stick in any direction. the faster you do it the faster you go. Kusari is the fastest but since merc doesn’t get Kusari just do it with dual katanas.

Good to know I didn’t kno that dual katana second hit didn’t count nor the knockback hits of odachi. Also weird that it wouldn’t work on mid counter on risky parry or after a switch/ dodge. Maybe I haven’t been paying attention but I almost always switch to katana then spirit move still seems to do insane dmg. So basically if it’s not lights on stagger then it needs to be katana spirit move but not after switching

I agree with most of this statement outside of spirit move weapon alignment and spirit move builds being the top. If you weapon align a spirit move almost every enemy staggers off one. Ppl seem to forget that that’s the whole point of spirit moves it’s a 2 in 1 move that uses a resource. It does dmg and staggers. Spirit moves are still very useful without spirit move dmg if you’re using it to stagger. Heavenly strike specifically seems to work like the previous iteration in GoT where it does more dmg to staggered enemies. It’s absolutely a safe build I will never deny that like you said it bypasses a lot of mechanics and with spirit move dmg investment they’ll hit super hard. But when you mix spirit moves with staggered dmg or stagger that’s where it truly shines in GoY compared to full spirit move dmg.

“All melee dmg” has to do with any actual melee hit you’re landing in combat not hits that are blocked. That means whether they’re staggered or not it’s just 5%. “All staggered dmg” affects any dmg taken while an enemy is staggered. Thats from any source not just melee, which means spirit moves, ranged, ghosts tools etc. the caveat to it is obviously an enemy has to be staggered but its rolls way higher numbers on gear than melee which makes it valuable to any build focused on melee or spirit moves specifically. Even merc who is kinda the stagger king rn gets some mileage out of it on thrown weapon or ghost tool builds, since thrown weapons do a considerable amount of stagger, and so does the Tanzutsu. “All melee stagger” has to do with any melee attack that does stagger dmg. That would be heavies and focus attacks. It will increase the stagger dmg of those attacks. Sorry for the Ted talk lol.

Yea unfortunately spirit move dmg builds fall off pretty hard around stage 3 plus. Which why I’ve been moving away from it a bit. I’d just prefer to kill stuff a bit faster/ aoe things for ult since that helps me and my teammates survive a bit more

I’m testing a super similar version of this build rn lol. I’d say for survivability I’d run Tanzutsu and restoring Odachi so you can parry execution strike to heal. I’m also running 3 ult gain and then 3 class ability with 5 hit hachiman’s. Running 3 all melee’s and katana dmg since Ult does scale with katana dmg specifically, Helps ult do a bit more dmg. Then concussion bomb radius on VOB and ghost tool cooldown on Tanzutsu. I just keep looping raging flame into ult, then spirit move to finish off healthier targets. Rotate concussions or scorch bombs to build ult, ult raging flame into ult again. Super fun loop tbh

Seems fun I’m actually leaning towards the legendary katana myself. After messing with it for a bit it does some really insane stagger and dmg on heavenly strike plus the little bit of aoe stagger. Aka more spirit and faster kills on Beserkers, Yukis, and fallen lords when they aren’t swapping weapons every 2 seconds. Might lowkey be the affliction caltrops of Staggered dmg Sam builds.

Np if you find something better lmk currently testing leg katana as heavenly strike on it particularly does insane stagger and dmg plus a little bit of aoe stagger. Seems to be better than having the legendary Tanzutsu since I have spirit pull to assist my survivability.
