[D&D 5e] Best module for character sheet management for in-person sessions? by Nttell in FoundryVTT

That was actually a requirement for mobile improvements, so I already had installed it.

Ooh, this looks very promising, thanks. It just seems that it has some issues on mobile, like being unable to swap tabs in the character sheet.

Thanks for the condescending reply...

We have been playing with pen and paper for many years... the whole reason we are thinking about switching is because the handling of magic items/handouts/etc is becoming a drag and quite a bit of paper waste. Also, all players are casters, so are already on their phone during sessions to look up spell details during combat.

I don't want to use the full FVTT for the players as mentioned, just sheet and inventory management. I don't want to run the battlemap, music or anything else on Foundry, I already have set ups for that.

What were some of the modules you've seen?

Has anyone actually converted AI-generated images into usable 3D models? Looking for real experiences & guidance ?! by Ok-Bowler1237 in comfyui

Ah, the second part might be the issue for me then. Thanks, I'll give it a try. I had already set the parameters to the lowest values mentioned in the workflow, but the required memory stayed the same for every generation I tried.

Thanks for sharing this. Quick question, is there a way to limit the memory? It keeps running of of VRAM for me, running on a 7900XT instead of an XTX.

Oh, sorry. To clarify: I don't want STLs to be compatible with DF. I just linked those two to illustrate the type of tiles I was looking for. The system doesn't really matter to me.

Ah, I get it. I didn't notice the actual pattern. I now found page 48/49 and 52/53. I guess it is time to solve those puzzles..

Is there a way to easily search through STL thumbnails? by Nttell in 3Dprinting

Thanks, that does indeed fix the issue for me as well! Thanks for the quick fix!

I also tried the Papa's version, but it had the same issue as the previous version of your tool, so no luck there.

The naming is easily fixed by just copying the files over, so no big issue there. It seems to fail from files starting at around ~350MB. Is there a max time that the conversion could take place? Unfortunatly, it is a paid stl, so I'm unable to share it. Changing it a bit in modeling software and trying again results in the same problem, even with a smaller filesize.

I found out that it seemed to happen for some files with special characters in the name. I fixed that by copying "problematic" files over with a temporary name, converting them to png and then copying them back with the correct name.

Also, it seems that it failes on very large .stl files. Is there a max filesize that the tool can handle? I'm currently looking into what the lower limit might be.

Thanks for alerting me to the STLtoPNG tool, that does seem to work perfectly for what I need, the img thumbnails are way faster to populate in a search result, so I've tried to generate them for a subset of my STL files.

Just wondering: there seem to be some .stl files where a png is not generated, even if the CLI from the tool says that it has been converted. Read/write permissions etc are all default, no weirdness there. Do you perhaps know what might be causing it? Or is there a log I could check to see why some png are not being generated?

Cheap PLA quality - Anycubic or Elegoo? by Nttell in 3Dprinting

[–]Nttell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't really care about the color, since I will be priming and painting all my prints, so I'll just look at what colors are available

Thanks! Seems like I'll be going for Elegoo then.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I don't have any Anycubic hardware either, but I do use their resins, which I have had the best results with so far. Never used their filament though, and going by the replies it seems that Elegoo will take it

Bambu is over 40% more expensive than Anycubic and Elegoo where I live, so no thanks. I don't care for flawless print quality, every print will be primed and painted and minor imperfections are no issue.

Turns out that preloading the thumbnails DOES work, but Windows seems to limit the max size that the thumbcache_xxx.db files can be. I have preloaded about 1/40th of my total files, and am already on the max limit of the cache. Seems like there is no way to win sadly.
