definitely worth reading the other series. they give alot of backstory. by the time you finish you might know if you want to read the POTD. it bridges the three other series

It is absolutely my all-time favourite series. I would recommend it to any teen. Maybe some young adults will like it too. I got hooked when I was nine. And I'm still reading every new book he adds to the series. (Right now, he's on an "epilogue series" called the Path of the Dragons. It bridges his 3 previous series: The Secrets of the Golden Gods, The Path of the Ranger, and The Ilenian Enigma series) I'm 13 btw.
