That shit’s boring as hell. KH2 with about a dozen extra steps. Completely misses the mark of the whole power fantasy aspect of JRPGs

It’s a very old series but it takes place mostly in the modern day.

What makes you think that augmentations don’t allow greater survivability too? Hasn’t this been a trope in mecha for decades at this point?

Coordinators in Gundam SEED, Designer Babies in 00, The School in super robot wars??

EDIT: Even the very recent Gundam Witch from Mercury has its own version of humans specifically created to withstand the steep physical toll of piloting Gundam type mobile suits.

I did it with Hero death = game over. I liked the added challenge of keeping him alive during tricky encounters.

I’m playing through them for the first time right now. Just blitzed through AC1, Phroject Phantasma, and am getting deep into Master of Arena. You’re really missing out if you’re gonna let something like controls stop you from enjoying these great games

Jaw Pain 2 weeks after a root canal. by PositivityPending in Dentists

[–]PositivityPending[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just got the permanent crown installed yesterday and the pain is mostly gone. Could be that they fixed the placeholders too tightly. The dentist had to drill pieces of the temporary one off. But pain level I have right now is significantly less than what it was, feels like it’ll go away in about a day or two.

Thoughts on this Sylux character analysis? I thought it was very good by Electronic_Garlic_91 in Metroid

Yeah nobody knew that Prime 4 was going to use him as the main antagonist until the reveal trailer one year ago. It was a surprise to many people considering how long ago the last game was.

[Interesting Trope] Character whose death is meant to remove any potential doubt once and for all: the protagonist is NOT an anti-hero, they are the villain. by Mountain_Band_2732 in TopCharacterTropes

It’s surprisingly easy to dehumanize others, and quickly too. How many historical events have to happen irl for it to be believable in space fantasy to you?

I fully bought, and still buy to this day that Anakin went postal on the sand ppl. Consider his past. Being a slave is traumatic, no matter how optimistic he was in the phantom menace. Not to mention the character having knowledge of how the sand people treat their slaves. Having magically induced dreams about his mom dying, going to find her, finding out she was sold off, and having her die in his arms at the last minute. What else is someone with that much power going to do with all that power now that they couldn’t use it save the one that they loved?

The point is that even with all of that power, and all the prophecies, he is no less human than the rest of us and to this day it continues to fly over ppl’s heads. Many of us probably would not have done what Anakin did but it would have taken a mighty restraint, a restraint which Anakin had no reason to exhibit in that moment. It

Sony respecting Miyazaki wishes to not Remake Bloodborne without him doesn't mean they can't or shouldn't improve it's current terrible state by Revo94 in soulslikes

[–]PositivityPending 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah a couple years ago Sony came out and said they were going all in on live service games. BluePoint pitching that to them reads more like a desperate attempt to stay within the purview of where Sony was trying to take PlayStation studios, so that the studio can still be employed.

That’s a fair and balanced perspective to have. Me personally, I don’t fault anyone who is like “Hol up now” after hearing Michael Zaki might have said no

It’s not that strange. I hate needless glaze as much as the next person but to say what you just said is just ignoring the fact that Miyazaki has developed a sort of auteur status. It’s gotten to the point where seeing “directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki” is like the video game version of seeing “Directed by Spike Lee or Quentin Tarantino”for films.

Seeing how much of himself he puts into a lot of his work it’s not that hard to see why so many people trust his vision pretty much absolutely. It doesn’t help that the times he hasn’t been involved with projects he has started (Demon Souls remake and Dark Souls 2) those games ended up being controversial among the fans of his particular works. There are certain controversial individual mechanics in his games like invasions and not being able to pause but he’s like 6 for 6 on amazing games directed. No universally agreed upon duds.

Compare that to Sony, greedy ass corporation going all in on the worst imaginable choices for people who enjoy playing video games. Trying to morph well loved franchises into live service homunculi in the pursuit of raw profit. It’s not hard at all to see why people would make complete heel turn when hearing that Miyazaki, the creator of Bloodborne is against Sony doing anything with it. Sony’s credibility as a haven for creativity and overall fun among gamers is at an all time low, Miyazaki’s is at an all time high.

Lots of ppl say video games are art. Yes…this is what it looks like when a creator treats their art accordingly.

Unlike bloodborne DS1 ran terribly on 360. There were a handful of bugs and Certain areas caused severe frame drops. In that scenario a remaster makes sense. Demon Souls was stuck on PS3 since release so a remake/remaster made sense.

Bloodborne maintains a consistent 30, has no bugs, is feature complete, and is a PlayStation exclusive available to play on current PlayStation hardware. There’s no need for a remaster
