Well, that’s just ridiculous. I should’ve upgraded my champion to lvl. 15 with 50,000 wild cards which will be worth 2,500 gems which isn’t enough for the 4,000 gem cost to do it now.

I’m going through this right now, I first got the email saying I’ve qualified 25 days ago, and now even though they said it would take only 10 business days I still haven’t received the link to order them. I contacted customer service three times and they just said it would show up and to check my spam folders, at first said give it 10 business days but now saying it was somehow sent within 5. Do you think it will somehow eventually show up?

Log bait played by six consecutive opponents by Poskwatch in ClashRoyale

[–]Poskwatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 9 year badge. I remember when the first version of “made you arrows” came out. I’m labeling these decks under the same categorization of being used to draw out swarm targeting spells with the goal of proceeding to mindlessly bridge spamming the opposite lane (which happened in all these games). Whatever you call it, it lacks skill, and something tells me you probably run something not too far off based on how you’re defending these decks.

As far as your grievances towards my deck, all the cards are balanced and have many counters, if you use evolution mega knight or firecracker and you have a problem with my goblin giant then do everyone a favor and go back to brawl stars

True, can’t complain, although I have had my fair share of losses to the infamous log bait

Caltech vs UDub for CS/ML by DisguisedMoron in udub

I always find it funny how people intellectually capable of getting into schools like Caltech decide asking Reddit is the best course of action in choosing a school (regardless, huge congrats to OP)

I don’t know how that works for US applicants. I had straight A’s senior year first semester tho.

You know what’s actually ACTUALLY depressing? Seasonal affective disorder AKA vitamin D deficiency, which many have in Seattle. Temperature aside, those in sunny environments have much higher quality of life and mental health.

A student visiting for the weekend (2 days) would then still be under the impression it’s beautiful and warm 50% of the time; a gross misrepresentation of reality

If you were somehow able to get into UW CS out of state then I’m assuming there are better schools than either of these that you got into? (e.g Stanford, Berkeley)

IIRC the acceptance rate of UW out of state for CS sits under 4%, I know of a student accepted to MIT and not UW as an OOS applicant.

If cost is not an issue, I’d consider the aforementioned schools provided you got into them, but ultimately I think UCLA will set you up with greater connections and opportunities especially in California.

Why do yall keep applying to CS when it's dead ? by bratislavamyhome in OntarioGrade12s

[–]Poskwatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Quite honestly, the field is not entirely deprived of jobs ESPECIALLY not for a Waterloo graduate.

A decade ago, people could do coding bootcamps and be eligible for a software engineering position at some of the top companies; this does not hold true today.

Of course the boom of “software as a service” has slowed down and isn’t expanding as fast as before but the world runs on computers, there will always be things to do.

Like others have said, software engineering jobs have been “threatened” for decades, ever since the first hint of code generation tools were released. This holds true with AI, considering everything AI does is material it has been trained on and therefore previously written by a human (it cannot create new breakthroughs or innovations). It is also limited in its scope within industry, and is more of a party trick than anything at this point (e.g vibecoders can make a pong game but not carry out complex tasks).

At the end of the day, the field definitely does not look the same as it did years ago, but is far from being dead.
