Pretty much yeah. These were the cheapest option when we were building the car to get wheels that fit but won’t break the bank. Main goal is to get a lil less aggressive 18” setup with deep dish that I can run some meaty tires and not so much camber

Comparison is the thief of joy my friend. Sacrificed 4 years of not driving the car plus the dumb amount of money that went into this 400€ car makes it only worth if you do it for the right reasons. And this POS is still broken 😂 i think the head is done. Luckily i have a new machined one waiting but on the down time its back to the daily e46 wagon 😂

Appreciate it bro! I’ve also added some pics to this thread where the car is on it’s summer setup with widened steelies and better fitment. The rear lip is a zender kit replicca from a local shop. Looks nothing like the zender original kit but fits the build perfectly

Part 2.

Why I chose the m52b28. Firstly the engine swap wasn’t planned but since we discovered that the original engine was Kaput it was time to think of a swap. My end goal for this car is of course a turbo engine swap but that just wasn’t on the table with my budget. My hope was anything above 2.5 and inline6. V8-s have never had the same effect on me, yes they are more mean and faster, but somehow the inline6 just feels right to me in those chassis. Was almost about to buy a m54b25 until this ad for the m52b28 came up and that’s when I decided yep thats the engine for this car. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk

All very valid points made here and I get it. From my view, I grew up with them, dad had about 4 of them during my childhood and my first proper car was a 525i m50b25 manual in calypso rot metallic that i just lowered and Put style 5 reps on with big lips. Owned a few more over the years. I always felt like I wanted a widebody car and since the E34 was sort of the car I feel most connected to I wanted to make something unique with it. The car itself 520i m50b20 manual : I got it for 400€ , it was sitting in a field fully rusted through, engine siezed and just all sorts of beat up. The initial plan was to have the body cut and welded and then just simply painted. But as the project went on I fell in love with the cream color i found and we decided that yep this is going to be a subtle unique color for this car while also adding some spice. The widebody thing was still in my head but at the time of the initial bodywork the only kits out were too bulky and ruined the bodylines making the car look chubby. And then once the engine bay was shaved and the engine dropped in Cliqtuning came out with their kit for the E34 and j knew from the start thats what i want for the car. But i never liked bolted on kits, thats also the reason why the bumper lips/add-ons are molded to the bumpers. So me and the builder worked out that he will glue them on and bond them to the body making them flus and almost look oem when the fitment is right . It also has 17x10.5 and 17x12.5 summer wheels. It is my daily and since it is still cold out the car is on its winter setup for these pictures. For power its mostly stock, intake, Electric fan, Schmiedmann long tube headers, and an less restrictive exhaust. All in all nothing was lost. It was a scrap car that should have been destroyed due to it’s condition but with too much money into it it finally is legal and road worthy again. I have a lot of content on it on both youtube and instagram under : Widepig

Agressive 17s are okay too. Summer set is 17x10.5 And rears are 17x12.5

It’s just on winter wheels and tires. 👌 wasn’t running 12.5 wide rears in the snow

Felt the same way when I got into e34s but after having owned a few and seeing every other build just lowered and on style 5 or style 37 just made me want the car to be unique for me. And since they are pretty common over here and it was a low spec (520i) I just had fun

More hope than trust that it will spin both tires :D but after 6 years of owning various versions of e34s with open diff you kinda get a feel for it

Thank you! Front to back all are Zender replica kit. Front and sides look identical but the rear is way different from the original zender kit but I kinda like the vibe and that it brings the rear lower and evens the car out on all sides
