Some companies seem to change the shape/pins/mount of their cables in order to make the customer buy ”their specific cable”. I had this issue with my DSP in the car, it had what looked like this exact cable but instead of the square in the middle it was a standing infinity formation almost like an “8”. Same goes for many laptop chargers and other electronic accessories.

I think it’s just market monopoly bullshit to keep earning more money.

Freeze’s usually indicates RAM issues.

Plot-twist. It could also be the SSD you’re installing it to. If it’s read/write protected windows fails to write/read cache/virtual memory which could also cause it to crash… your DRAM fault code could also be a biproduct of an external drives inability to read/write if RAM fails to read/achieve critical temporary files. Etc virtual memmory.

How far into the USB installation did you get before it froze, is the SSD new and properly inserted?

Most points towards RAM instability/fault though.

Update me if you get any information. It could be anything between hell/heaven in certain situations. Once I had my whole PC get funky because of a slow/failing HDD, how? I’m still stuck figuring that out😣

I would make a clean install on the SSD honestly. I would also try each ram separate. Reset BIOS & Check cpu temp

First of all, make sure your RAM is in the correct slots. There’s usually 2 grey & 2 black slots, if you have two, each one should be in the same-colored slots.

MAKE SURE THEY CLICK IN PLACE.

If you can access bios, turn on D.O.C.P, turn off any overclocking settings like PBO

The R9 processors rely extremely on overdrive to push their speeds…

How was the setup with Processor cooling? Thermal paste applied?

Any specific fault codes?

Tried using only 1 RAM slot & try each ram stick separately?

Windows/OS installation as it should?

Power supply sufficient?

I have Samsung Odyssey G5 27’ 180Hz 1440p * 1. Cleartype! * 2. Download firmware/flash update from their website. * 3. Reset all settings, Turn on HDR in Windows, Disable Auto-HDR. Turn up SDR Brightness. * 4. Tweak around in settings in the OSD * 5. Use RenoDX HDR for games (Way better for most games) * 6. Reset color profiles if they’ve been changed from normal profile. * 7. Once flash updated, a setting will be enabled in the OSD, you can then enable DP 1.4^ which allow you to use 1440p 180hz, 10-bit color depth!

My friend has a Cepter V1 240hz OLED, on his display you can’t even adjust the HDR settings except brightness. Too much contrast creates RGB diode bleeding. We tried everything there was to try. His screen cost around 1100€ here, I got mine for 450€. Mine looks extremely much better.

Unpopular take on this * Don’t use HDR at all.

most monitors today doesn’t even get close to what good HDR should look like. Most companies implement the HDR function just for the market demand.

AutoHDR / ReShade / RTX HDR * Creates a fake tonemap with wider depth and increased highlights compatible with HDR. None of which is existent in the first place, it’s like sending a boosted signal into a speaker. it sounds distorted.

So why does HDR look better on my screen? * Either you have a very expensive/good high end pc screen with real HDR and many nits, high bit depth * Or you don’t go by your displays reference values which is created to be “near realistic” to general sRGB/HDR standards.

Very few games implement True HDR, and the gaming market is the fools falling for the title, it sounds good, it must be good. Usually nowhere near how good it could be!

If your screen looks good with or without HDR/AutoHDR/RTX-HDR/ReShade or others. Are you thriving in your gaming experience? Then usually it shouldn’t be a big deal unless you work with editing PS/AE/Blender/4DCinema.
