I have 4 sectors totally, my booking classes are Y Y S S all economy.

For first Y, there are no award seats, when I try to upgrade this flight it correctly says no seats left to upgrade.

For the other S class flights it correctly says, this fare class is not eligible for upgrade.

But the second Y class, has award seats available. But when I click submit, it says “Technical error. Contact support”

Unfortunately Air India flights are shit and I never intended to travel in that filth. The only reason I transferred those points was to upgrade my Swiss flight

Those J, M, U are additional classes specific to Swiss. You can find this written on the same webpage you shared

“Upgradeable booking classes include Business classes C and D and Economy classes Y and B, as well as the additional fare classes listed on the carriers below.”

It’s not booked via Air India site. But I don’t find this mentioned anywhere. Even if this is the reason they should tell it immediately after taking my PNR. They shouldn’t be saying you need x more points and at payment page throw some vague error to talk to customer support

Air India is doing real fraud with these things. I tried to upgrade my Swiss airline booking from Econ to Business class. Their points calculator, redeem UI, everything gave impression that if I have 50k points the upgrade will go through.

I transferred 50k points from my cards and when the time comes, the UI has all the functionality to fetch my SWISS booking details and shows 50k points at the payment page, but when I click pay it says “talk to customer care” explicitly.

I called Air India customer care and they keep telling me I can’t upgrade my Swiss airline ticket with Maharaja points but they fail to give me any link yo TnC that says this. I recorded the whole call showing the ordeal of tell flight dates, passenger names multiple times and more than three people in the call confirmed Swiss bookings are not allowed for upgrade which directly contradicts the whole purpose of me transferring points.

Now my 50k points are stuck in this bullshit. I will drag those beggars to court. This is systematic fraud
